- Following the completion of her training, #PHPrimrose was given her new police name at a poignant ceremony held at Wellington Barracks. Primrose will now be known as ‘PH Negus’, named after former City of London Police officer Kim Negus. Sadly, Kim passed away in 2023.
Kim worked in the Public Protection Unit supporting vulnerable victims as a qualified sexual offences investigator. As a Family Liaison Officer, she was deployed to the Grenfell Tower fire to assist with the bereaved families and survivors.Kim was a lover of horses and during her cancer treatment would visit the stables as it was her happy place.The ceremony was attended by Kim’s family, including her mother Sue, who received a naming certificate from Deputy Commissioner Paul Betts.Kim’s mum said: “Kim didn’t join the police until she was 31 and had a wonderful career. She would have been so proud to be acknowledged in this way and have her name live on with this beautiful horse.
