Program Notes
Thematically based on a concert Bb scale and arpeggio, this inventive overture contains marvelous melodies and distinctive harmonies. Even at this easy grade level, Anne McGinty uses a nice variety of scoring techniques to alternately feature the woodwinds and brass sections.
