MrBeast's #TeamWater fundraiser has hit its final goal, raising a total of $40,000,000 to help 2,000,000 people have access to clean water for decades. The fundraiser ran through the month of August and was led by MrBeast and Mark Rober and involved many other high-profile content creators.
In a press release shared over email with Newsweek, MrBeast and Rober said in a joint statement, "Mark and I are blown away by what the creator community has accomplished—we could never have achieved this on our own."
Why It Matters
More than 2 billion people around the world lacked access to drinking water that is safely managed, as of 2022, as per the United Nations. The charity WaterAid has said that one in 10 people around the world doesn't have access to clean water close to home.

MrBeast—whose real name is James "Jimmy" Donaldson—is one of the most popular content creators in the world, with 429 million subscribers on YouTube. Forbes recently named him the top content creator in the world, reporting earnings of $85 million. His content is often focused on charitable acts and regularly involves big-budget, elaborate stunts.
What To Know
MrBeast confirmed the news in a video posted to X, which has been viewed over 950,000 times as of reporting. Speaking in the video, he said, "We did it, guys."
"Every continent, minus Antarctica, is now going to be getting clean water, through Water Aid, the charity... I am so freaking excited," MrBeast said.
The #TeamWater fundraiser was launched on August 1 and throughout the month moved to hit its fundraising goal through videos, social content and livestreams, including one which ran for 15-and-a-half hours, which they said broke a Guinness World Record.
Donations are mainly going to the charity WaterAid, an international nonprofit that builds infrastructure tailored to different communities to help provide water, and additional charity partners include GivePower, DigDeep, and the Alok Foundation.
Thousands of content creators were involved, including Kai Cenat, the Stokes Twins, Dude Perfect, Hank Green and Gordon Ramsay.
What People Are Saying
Kelly Parsons, CEO of WaterAid America, said in a press release: "This moment proves what's possible when global generosity meets innovation. Thanks to Jimmy, Mark, and the #TeamWater community, millions will soon have access to something most of us take for granted: clean water. That means more children in school instead of walking for water, more families staying healthy, and more women able to build their future - all made possible by reliable clean water access, through the work of global content creators, donors, and everyday people looking to make a difference."
MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson and Mark Rober, in a joint statement shared in a press release: "Reaching our $40 million goal means that millions of people will experience the life-changing impact of clean water for years to come... So thank you to the thousands of creators who helped make this possible. From $1 to $1 million, every donation made a difference in reaching this goal, and we couldn't be more grateful."
