The Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund is the only pooled funding instrument dedicated to migration and is open to all States. The Director General of IOM, in their capacity as the Coordinator of the United Nations Network on Migration, is the Chair of the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund Steering Committee.
Launched in July 2019, the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund is the only pooled funding instrument dedicated to migration and is open to all States. It is rooted in the guiding principles of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, emphasizing a comprehensive, 360-degree approach, shared ownership at the national and international levels and United Nations system coherence. With its innovative features – including a strong focus on human rights and an inclusive governance structure – the Fund upholds the highest ethical standards and full transparency. By grouping the Global Compact’s 23 objectives into five thematic areas, the Fund enables donors to support Global Compact implementation in a balanced and effective way.
The Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund Steering Committee is the guiding, decision-making and supervisory body for the Fund activities. It sets strategic guidelines, approves joint programme proposals and monitors the Fund's overall performance. It is composed of 12 members: 3 members of the Network; 3 donors; 3 Member States (representing countries of origin, transit and destination); and 3 stakeholders.
With your help, IOM can save lives by delivering crucial assistance wherever and whenever it is needed most.
