About Christy Malyan

Christy is Football Operations Lead at GIVEMESPORT and has worked in the football content industry for over 12 years, having joined Football FanCast as an intern in 2012 after graduating with a degree in History and Politics from the University of Leicester.

Christy worked his his way up from shift writer to Editor-in-Chief at Football FanCast, serving in that position throughout 2019 before joining the GMS team in late 2020.

Christy has created opinion, news, features and viral football content, covering the Premier League, Championship and the England National Team. He's a proud member of the Football Writers’ Association, is a Charlton Athletic fan and also an avid follower of Wrestling.

Favorite Player

Christy's favourite player growing up was Scott Parker, closely followed by Chris Powell. Away from Charlton Athletic, he has always admired hardworking but progressive players. Some of Christy's favourite players throughout Premier League history include Luis Suarez, Harry Kane and Kevin de Bruyne.

Favorite Sports Team

Christy was born and raised into a Charlton Athletic household and continues to maintain an avid interest in the Addicks. However, having relocated to his university city of Leicester, Christy often watches and follows the Foxes. Christy has also supported England since witnessing Michael Owen's legendary solo goal against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup.

Favorite Sports Moment

Leicester City winning the Premier League was a special moment for English football and one for Christy personally, having spent much of his adult life living in Leicester. Christy also attended three unforgettable Wembley events - Charlton's 2019 League One Playoff Final victory over Sunderland, the first ever AEW All In in 2023, and the Addicks' 2025 League One Playoff Final victory over Leyton Orient.
