lynx is the oldest actively-maintained console-based web browser. It
is highly configurable and can act as a front-end for a large number
of network services.
Although lynx is fast, small, and very stable, it makes no attempt
to handle JavaScript or CSS formatting. Other console browsers like
elinks (www/elinks) tackle those languages, with varying degrees
of success.
===> The following configuration options are available for lynx-current-2.9.3_1:
DOCS=on: Build and/or install documentation
IDN=on: International Domain Names support
NLS=on: Native Language Support
====> HTTPS support: you can only select none or one of them
GNUTLS=off: SSL/TLS support via GnuTLS
OPENSSL=on: SSL/TLS support via OpenSSL
===> Use 'make config' to modify these settings
www/lynx-current: Better SSL OPTIONS
The GNUTLS OPTION was being sneaky--if you disabled it, it enabled
OpenSSL support instead. That's probably what most people wanted it
to do anyway, but that wasn't the best way to do it.
Instead, add a new radio group with OPENSSL and GNUTLS options. It's
also possible to disable both and build without TLS/https support now.
www/lynx-current: Better MASTER_SITES
Previously we had one unencrypted HTTP and one ftp URL. Now we have
two HTTPS URLs.

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.
This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these
pkg-descr files.

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.
Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.
There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

*/*: Remove redundant '-[0-9]*' from CONFLICTS_INSTALL
The conflict checks compare the patterns first against the package
names without version (as reported by "pkg query "%n"), then - if
there was no match - agsinst the full package names including the
version (as reported by "pkg query "%n-%v").

Provide a new macro NCURSES_IMPL
This is necessary to deal with the reduction of the ncurses library from
2 implementation on one single implementation which would be only the widechar.

Introduce ICONV_CONFIGURE_ARG variable defined at Uses/iconv.mk.

Update CONFIGURE_ARGS for how we pass CONFIGURE_TARGET to configure script.
Specifically, newer autoconf (> 2.13) has different semantic of the
configure target. In short, one should use --build=CONFIGURE_TARGET
instead of CONFIGURE_TARGET directly. Otherwise, you will get a warning
and the old semantic may be removed in later autoconf releases.
To workaround this issue, many ports hack the CONFIGURE_TARGET variable
so that it contains the ``--build='' prefix.
To solve this issue, under the fact that some ports still have
configure script generated by the old autoconf, we use runtime detection
in the do-configure target so that the proper argument can be used.
