DC has always been the home for some of the most powerful characters in comic book history. There has always been the argument that DC is for people who love ultra-powerful heroes, and Marvel is for readers who like more human heroes. With so many powerful characters, it's hard to keep track of who DC's most powerful characters are.
Since characters like Superman and Wonder Woman need villains or allies from other worlds who can challenge them, powerful new cosmic characters are continually introduced. That can make it hard to rank the strongest DC characters without including both the cosmic heroes and villains.
Updated February 14th, 2024, by David Harth: DC Comics revolutionized the use of sci-fi in comics in the Silver Age, opening up the wider vistas of space with characters like Green Lantern. Since then, many powerful DC cosmic characters have popped up. Many well-known DC characters could be considered cosmic characters, using their power and skill to face off against the deadliest foes in the Multiverse.

Mon-El then suffered unspeakable torment when he was sent into the Phantom Zone until a cure was found for his lead poisoning. Valor has similar powers to Superman thanks to the Earth's yellow sun, including invulnerability, longevity, enhanced senses, and flight. His only real downfall was his vulnerability to lead, which was eventually cured by Brainiac 5.
