KERA is a PBS affiliate located in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.
Visuals:
Over a close-up video of the Fort Worth Water Gardens, there is a rounded, stylized white 13 with an outline on the bottom left. Next to it is the text "KERA-TV," and below it "DALLAS/FORT WORTH," both in yellow with a drop shadow.
Variant:
For the station's 25th anniversary in 1985, there was a red and black line on the lower half of the screen. On top of the line on the left was a different, more angular stylized 13 with a yellow banner wrapped around it reading "25th Anniversary" in black. Next to the 13 on the right and above the line is "KERA TV" in a yellow serif font with a drop shadow, and below the line, "Dallas Fort Worth" in white, also in the same font and with a drop shadow.
Technique: Live-action footage and digital computer graphics
Audio:
A guitar tune, some waterfall sounds, along with an announcer saying, "You're watching Channel 13: Public Television for North Texas"
Audio Variant:
On the 25th anniversary variant, the announcer says "Celebrate 25 years of great TV, here on channel 13: Public Television for North Texas."
2nd ID (1984)
Visuals:
On a black background, blue text with a rainbow trail drops down in 3D. The text turns towards the screen, reading "TURN TO THE BEST." The text positions itself diagonally across the screen, hiding the trail, and "THE BEST" stretches out of the screen as the B turns into a 13 and flips. Once the 13 positions itself, it flashes with a rainbow flare and "KERA Dallas/Ft. Worth appears below, also in blue.
Technique: Motion controlled animation, along with analog computer animation.
1974-1975?: On a black background, many oscillating bandwidth shapes gradually converge into a thin light purple line near the bottom of the screen. “KERA” in a Eurostile Extended font slowly slides up from behind the line, followed by “PRESENTS” in white sliding out under the line.
1975?-1977: On a black background, the oscillating bandwidth shapes are different, "KERA" is now green, the line is white, “PRESENTS” is replaced with “PRODUCTIONS” and the pacing is quicker.
Technique: Analog computer animation.
Audio:
1974-1975?: An ascending 6-note repeated moog fanfare ending with a 7-note fanfare.
1975?-1977: Either a fast paced moog fanfare or silent.
1974 logo music on opening and on closing 1975? logo's short version with music.

2nd Logo (1977-1985)
Visuals:
Opening: On a blue background, a series of white lines rapidly fly downward from the top of the screen. It then zooms out to reveal the outline of the letters "KERA" in a rounded, connected font, which fade in with a flash. The word "DALLAS/FORT WORTH" flashes just below it as the first flash happens. After a while, the bottom caption fades out as the word "PRESENTS" flashes in its place.
Variant: On "With Ossie and Ruby," the logo starts after the "DALLAS/FORT WORTH" text flashes in.
Technique: Cel animation.
Audio:
Opening: An electronic synth increasing in volume, followed by another synth scaling up a few octaves with a rising note in the background. Sometimes the opening theme is used instead.
Visuals: On a black-to-gray vertical gradient background, there is the white text "KERA" in a rounded, connected font with a white outline. Above it is the word "FROM," and below it "DALLAS/FORT WORTH."
Visuals: On a brownish-orange textured background that scrolls upward, the letters "KERA" (with downward-scrolling textures) zoom out from the left to the center of the screen, and fade to brownish-orange. The background fades to blue, and then white. Below this, "Dallas Fort Worth Denton" appears, then "PRESENTS" fades in.
Variants:
In 1985, the logo lacked the "Denton" text.
A longer variant has the "K" zoomed in, taking almost the entire screen, which zooms out into place.

5th Logo (1995-2001)
Visuals: On a blue background with a white strip on the left side of the screen, a sculpture of a man is seen spinning in the blue background. The sculpture disappears and appears in the white strip, spinning along with other objects that are spinning as well (such as a bronze key, and a wicker basket). The respective logos for the stations KERA and KDTN appear next to the strip, while a painting frame pans on the blue background, and a window frame pans on the white strip.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: An announcer saying "The following is a local production of KERA 13 and KDTN 2."
Visuals: Over a dark blue water background with circular radio signals centered on the right, a shining pyramid spins around as white horizontal lines move up and down, "KERA" in a shining, stylized font forms, and a bunch of scrambled letters appear on top of the "KERA." Then, the horizontal lines disappear, the scrambled letters turn into "A PRODUCTION OF," and the pyramid positions itself inside the A. Once the pyramid stops moving, it lights up, the A emits vertical light flares, and the text "DALLAS / FT. WORTH" appears below.
Variant: There is a short version that starts at the point the pyramid lights up and lacks the "DALLAS / FT. WORTH" text. This version also includes the scrambling letters.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A hip-hop-like beat, with a bass tone held through out, with a synthesized flute warble, and four synthesizer notes play one beat later.
Audio Variant: Sometimes, it's the closing theme of the show.
Visuals: On a black background, a spinning pyramid zooms out, revealing the same design from the previous logo. The pyramid places itself under the "A" in "KERA" and flashes. "A PRODUCTION OF" gets wiped in by small rectangles above and "DALLAS / FT. WORTH" fades in below.
Variant: One variant has the animation superimposed into the closing credits.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The closing theme, silence, or on occasion, the music from the previous logo.
