Japan Audio Visual Network
Japan Audio Visual Network was a home video distributor established in November of 1984 by producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki (1934-2010). West Cape Corporation and Nippon Columbia are the largest shareholders, with Bandai, Shochiku, and Tokuma Shoten president Yasuyoshi Tokuma (1921-2000) investing in the company, being the representative director.
On June 27, 1991, the company filed for special liquidation with the Tokyo District Court and went bankrupt. Total liabilities have amounted to approximately 7.7 billion yen. This was due to the withdrawal of funds by Nippon Columbia. The company's investments in rental video stores and karaoke boxes had caused its cash flow to deteriorate.
