Elevation Pictures is a Canadian distributor founded in 2013. Debuting at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, they've also partnered with Quebec's Remstar Films for distribution. Select titles from A24 are distributed by Elevation in Canada. Elevation also holds Canadian distribution rights to films from Black Bear Pictures, as well as Suburbicon and the PAW Patrol film series. Elevation's home video product is primarily distributed by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. As a de-facto home video company, Elevation offers children's entertainment from DHX Media, Nelvana, Spin Master Corp. and others.

Visuals: The sequence starts on a slowly turning starfield, which quickly zooms out as the shining stars begin to become blurs. Meanwhile, dim, circular flashes appear and connect via lines (like a connect-the-dots puzzle). The starfield slows down again as "PICTURES" forms as a white outline, and "ELEVATION" is created from the connecting lines, dropping down. The camera slows into place, as the background becomes white and the text becomes navy blue.

Variants:

  • A still version of this logo is seen at the end of Between.
  • On Canadian prints of Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie, the logo is in fullscreen and videotaped, along with the logos for Telefilm Canada, Ontario Creates, and Zapruder Films, to match the film's opening sequence. Elevation's logo is replaced by the Neon logo, albeit with the same variant, on international prints.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An ethereal humming sound, complemented by a 12-note pinging tune that syncs up with the flashes appearing, a 'whoosh' sound as the screen fades to the finished product.

Availability: Can be viewed on most of the films in the Elevation library in Canada such as Oculus, The Imitation Game, The Big Sick, Moonlight, Room (2015), Suburbicon, the PAW Patrol movies, Dumb Money, Longlegs, and Conclave.
