Visuals:
- Early Version (1989-1993): After the warning screen, the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition for "cabin fever" fades in, with "cabin fever" in red (this would be omitted on later releases). After a few seconds, it fades out and 7 chunks of wood fly in from all sides of the screen, 2 of them being a wispy shape and the other 5 being geometric. A barely visible red line is also seen zooming into the center. As the pieces meet in the center, the red line flips up to a 5-sided polygon shape and the blocks enclose around it, forming a cabin shape with 2 puffs of smoke coming out of the chimney. The cabin zooms out, the wood texture fading to a flat white color, as a long red rectangle flies in from the bottom and shrinks into the background, forming a thin divider as "CABIN FEVER", in a white serif font and with a trademark symbol on the upper right of the text, rises up from the top of the line, and "ENTERTAINMENT INC." fades in below, in a tall sans serif font that's evenly spaced out.
- Later Version (1993-1998): A recreation of the original logo with several differences. The wood blocks are thicker, lighter, and have less complicated shadows, and the way then come in is also slower and from different areas (the first block seen is one of the wisps on the left side). As they come together, the red interior of the cabin is now a block itself, spinning in and combining with the wood blocks as they zoom out instantly. The cabin also has a taller roof and differently-shaped wisps compared to before. The red line rocks in at a sharper degree than usual, "CABIN FEVER" has a more instant sliding animation, and the text has different proportions.
Variants:
- A still version also exists.
- Sometimes, "Distributed by" is seen above the logo.
Technique: CGI. The later version was animated by Pete Gould, who had to make it because the earlier logo's master tape was damaged.
Audio: A country-style banjo and harmonica tune. 3 high-tone strums play in sync with the animation at the end.
Audio Variant: The early version has an additional harmonica stinger over the screen placed before the logo.
Availability: Can be seen on the Our Gang/Little Rascals and Lonesome Dove video releases between 1990 and 1995 as well as others. The early version can be found on The Real Patsy Cline. The still version appeared on Buffalo Girls.
