About

With AWS Network Firewall, you can create firewall rules that provide fine-grained control over network traffic and easily deploy firewall security across your VPCs. Automatically scale your network firewall to protect your managed infrastructure. Protect your unique workloads with a flexible engine that can define thousands of custom rules. Centrally manage security policies across existing accounts and VPCs and automatically enforce mandatory policies on new accounts. With AWS Network Firewall, you can define firewall rules that provide fine-grained control over network traffic. Network Firewall works together with AWS Firewall Manager so you can build policies based on Network Firewall rules and then centrally apply those policies across your virtual private clouds (VPCs) and accounts. Inspect traffic flows using features such as inbound encrypted traffic inspection, stateful inspection, protocol detection, and more.

About

Firewall Analyzer helps manage and optimize firewall policies, automates firewall rule administration, tracks configuration, rule changes, helps schedule configuration backup, executes regular compliance audit checks, performs periodic security audits, generates real-time alerts for security events, tracks VPN usage, generates VPN reports, displays the current security status of firewalls, tracks employee internet usage, monitors to generate live, historical bandwidth reports, alerts when bandwidth is exceeded, collects, consolidates, and analyzes firewall logs to generate security, bandwidth reports.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • ManageEngine Firewall Analyzer delivers exceptional value compared to heavy enterprise SIEM platforms, pulling in logs from a multi-vendor firewall setup and organizing everything into a clean, centralized dashboard. Raw log data is effectively translated into clear insights on bandwidth usage and traffic patterns, making anomaly detection much easier. Additionally, the built-in compliance reports for standards like PCI-DSS and the rule optimization tools save a tremendous amount of manual cleanup time and make audit preparation significantly smoother.
  • Multi Vendor support (fortinet, Cisco, sonicwall etc....) Alerts admins when rules or firewall configurations are altered, providing accountability and change management compliance. Generates automated compliance reports for standards like ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NERC-CIP, NIST, and GDPR.
  • 1. Centralized Monitoring and Analysis of firewall logs. 2. Supports mutiple firewalls and vendors. 3. Provides useful reports, dashboards and security insights. 4. Helps identify unusual traffic patterns and potential security threats. 5. Simplifies compliance and audit reporting. 6. Easy to deploy and manage. 7. Good integration with other manage engine solutions.
  • ManageEngine firewall analyzer supports almost all firewalls. It offers you advanced features to analyze you firewall policies, monitor user activities It provides you detailed information about network traffic, bandwidth uses, security breaches if any.
  • Centralized Multi-Vendor Visibility: Aggregating and normalizing logs from different firewall vendors into a single, unified console eliminates blind spots and dramatically speeds up troubleshooting.

Cons

  • The user interface can occasionally feel a bit dated and cluttered, requiring time to navigate efficiently across different sub-menus. Additionally, resource consumption can spike when handling massive volumes of log data, meaning system performance needs close monitoring to prevent report generation lags on larger enterprise networks.
  • Log Volume storage consumes massive amount of storage. Memory mangement issues when syslog volume spikes.. Liumited Automation options.
  • 1. Initial configuration may require much time for larger environments. 2. Advance features may require some technical expertise. 3. Sometimes the licenses cost may increase too much when the users and devices increases.
  • We never encountered any major issues with ManageEngine firewall analyzer so far, but it should offer competitive pricing.
  • Resource Intensive: The on-premises deployment can be quite demanding on server resources (CPU and RAM and disk) when processing high-volume syslog streams during peak traffic times.
