RoboLedger documentation
Use RoboLedger through Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients. Connect QuickBooks, analyze and report on your books, plan, and close the month.
RoboLedger connects your QuickBooks books to Claude, ChatGPT and any other MCP client. You ask questions about your numbers, build reports and forecasts, compare your company with public filers, and when you trust it, close the month. Nothing is written to QuickBooks until you post an entry.
Get started
- Connect your books to your AI assistant: create a graph, connect QuickBooks, add RoboLedger to your AI client.
- What your AI assistant can do with your books: analyze, report, plan, compare, close.
- What RoboLedger needs to work well: current books, a mapped chart of accounts, a fiscal calendar, schedules.
- How RoboLedger works: from an event to a report, and the information blocks your statements are made of.
- Find your way around the app: a tour, page by page, with screenshots.
- Work across several companies: for fractional CFOs and controllers, one graph and one connection per client.
- Your books and your data: what's copied from QuickBooks, who can see it, and how to take it with you.
Work with your books
- Ask about your books: what your AI assistant reads, which figures are live and which are locked, and how to ask so you can check the answer.
- Review events in the Inbox: approve or reject events, and see which ones the close will post on its own.
- Reports and sharing: build statements, download them, and share them without sharing the ledger.
- Build a board pack: a checked board deck from a closed period, and a revised plan after the meeting.
- Plan and forecast with your AI assistant: budgets and what-if scenarios that project all three statements, month by month.
- Explore statements and metrics over time: any statement, note, schedule or scenario as a series.
- Compare with public companies: your margins and ratios next to SEC filers.
Keep the books right
- The reporting library: the concepts your accounts map to, and how they roll up.
- Map your chart of accounts: tie each account to a reporting concept, and keep it current.
- Schedules for recurring entries: depreciation, amortization and prepaid expenses, set up once.
- When QuickBooks changes after a sync: restate, catch up, or mark it as handled.
- Reconcile your accounts: tie your balances to QuickBooks, a statement or a schedule, and sign off.
- Close the month with your AI assistant: blockers, drafts, approval and the receipt.
- Nothing writes to QuickBooks until you post: what gets written back, and when.
