Vesti
Vesti (Вести) is the main news program of Russia-1. It first aired in 1991, during the establishment of the VGTRK and RTR networks. The program is simulcast on the other VGTRK channels RTR-Planeta and Russia-24.
1st Intro (May 13, 1991-April 4, 1994)
Visuals: The name of the broadcaster of the program — "ВСЕРОССИЙСКАЯ ТЕЛЕРАДИОКОМПАНИЯ", in a white, tall typewriter-esque font with a stacked format, flies across the starry sky leaving a trail while at it. A grey rectangular frame slides in from the bottom-right corner as the camera pans towards it, as well as three royal-blue, vertical shapes sliding in with the first being slightly curved from the rest and the other 2 shapes having a small hole punctured between them (actually reading "CH", which is the abbreviation of the producer of the program — "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ") sliding in from the right, sitting on top of the grey frame, also making it as the background. During the action, a spinning white sphere containing "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ" emerges from the top-right corner, zooms in towards the camera, and sits within the punctured hole between the 2 vertical shapes, thus forming the Vesti logo. The logo moves to the upper-right corner of the screen as an animated scene of three horses galloping with a carriage behind it fades in. The logo returns to its original spot, revealing the name of the program — "ВЕСТИ", in black and set in the same font, which wipes in below.
Variants:
- From November 1, 1993 to April 3, 1994, the sponsor's logo was placed in the splash screen in the lower-right corner.
- There exists a short variant: Against a dark nebula with a moving starfield, three royal-blue shapes, with an empty hole, fly in from the right as a glowing blue globe with white continents appears rotating from the left. Once the vertical shapes stop at the center, the background along with a globe fades to white. The said globe then reappears sliding to the right below the shapes, resulting in the appearance of the program title, then sits within a hole between two bars.
Technique: A mix of CGI and cel animation by Mikhail Minaev, Alexander Kogantsev, Igor and Vladlen Barbe.
Audio: A fragment of "'Celestial Accent', Large Organ Progression" from the Sound Ideas Series 1000 Library with a horse neigh and gallopings during the horse sequence. At the end, the distorted guitar sting ("MUSIC, ROCK - ROCK STAB 01" from the Sound Ideas Series 2000 library, which was also used in the 1987 Castle Home Video logo) is heard.
Audio Variant: The short variant uses a synth/electronic drum piece.
2nd Intro (January 25, 1994-September 5, 1999)
Visuals: The sequence starts with a dark gray RTR logo from the start of the channel's 1992-1995 startup ident, which slowly zooms in against a rippling dark slate blue background. A group of five transparent diagonal bars appear constantly sliding down, transitioning the RTR logo into a rotating glassy globe with blue continents as the bars' outlines appear sliding down at one point. The globe eventually starts to turn brighter and slowly zooming towards the camera as wiping bars start to bring up blue-tinted, chroma-keyed shots of running horses everywhere. The globe starts to pan down slowly as it wipes into the planet Earth itself, while white and pink bars of smaller sizes start to slide down over the screen. The background becomes more and more brighter as the medium-blue text "ВЕСТИ" appears inside wiping bars, sliding in from the right. The screen finally wipes to a bluish white background and the program title becomes fully revealed, settling to the center as thin diagonal lines wipe in between each letter, while a slanted, horizontal pink bar slides in from the left above and the white condensed, spaced-out text "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ" fades in on it. The whole logo then gains a faintly shiny bevel and a soft, bottom-right facing drop shadow.
Variants:
- Two short variants exist:
- On a dark indigo aurora background with the horizon of a rotating Earth, the Vesti logo forms in almost the same way as the opening, except the program title (in which another shot of an Earth can be briefly shown before fading out) is colored with gray along with thin lines, fades and glows in one-by-one. The planet Earth dims out as the "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ" bar appears above the program title.
- Dark blue "ВЕСТИ" is seen wiping in letter-by-letter on a bluish gray vertical gradient background with wiping slate gray letters of the program title as six pink diagonal lines wipe down between letters of the main text. As this happens, the pink bar, along with the spaced-out condensed text "ВЫ СМОТРИТЕ" on it, slides in from the right above.
- A special broadcast variant also exists, where another pink bar, on which the spaced-out serif text "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК" then fades in, slides in below the program title once it's done appearing.
- Starting on September 8, 1998, the RTR logo at the beginning is replaced by a newer one of the time, with transparent white Gill Sans texts "ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОЕ ТЕЛЕВИДЕНИЕ" (in a stacked format) and "РОССИИ" above and below respectively, which zooms out a little via crossfading for three frames. Behind the RTR logo, a dark blue horizontal border is added in an attempt to hide the former logo, before fading out once the globe appears.
Technique: CGI animation mixed with live-action footages.
Audio: Throughout the intro is a repeating synth-bell arpeggio, accompanied by ascending galloping-esque noises leading to a synth-bass/drum news theme playing for the rest.
Audio Variant: Short variants have a nine-note synth-bell/guitar jingle ending with a droning crescendo.
3rd Intro (September 6, 1999-February 20, 2000)
Visuals: The sequence starts with a rotating silver Earth globe against surrounding circles on a shady light bluish background, with two transparent pillar boxes throughout the intro and a transparent upper-right part of a white clock with Roman numerals next to a globe. The words of two black and white texts "ГОСУДАРСТВЕННОЕ ТЕЛЕВИДЕНИЕ РОССИИ" zoom and fade in and out at the bottom of the screen, while the globe zooms towards the screen and then turns into a sky blue sphere, over which the white FreeSet ExtraBold texts reading the program title appear circling to the left, as a vertical black line containing mutliple moving, vertically-adjusted cyan texts of the same title, in a thin futuristic font, appears on the left and slides off-screen. As two pillar boxes gain red and blue shades on the left respectively, the background turns blue and running horses appear from behind a globe with moving texts, which slides off-screen to the left. A large transparent letter "В" zooms in and disappears and a diagonal bright gradient shade in a boxed cut-out appears between pillar boxes as three sets of the "ВЕСТИ" text in a futuristic font, arranged in a vertical row, zoom out leaving trails as their colors turn white, blue and red respectively with an applied linear blur effect. During their appearance, pillar boxes are now teal, while the main background is dark blue, complete with horses still running to the right. As a large letter "Е" appears in the exact same way as the former one, two red and gray shades with moving brighter texts "ВЕСТИ" fade in and out in the upper-left and lower-right corners of the screen respectively. Two white texts "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ", with increasing spacing, blur in linearly at the same corners and then fade out as spinning blurry circular lines (somewhat reminiscent of a Shukhov Tower) zoom in over the screen in blue, red and white colors, while a transparent blue "radar" circles in the background once, then a gray globe with circling white texts of the program title zooms in to the left as a box of a bright gradient fades out. As two vertical black lines with moving texts from before, albeit in red for the left one, fade in near the center, two more globes with circling texts zoom in at the center and the right, in royal blue and red respectively and masked between black lines. The background, with the disappearance of circular lines and pillar boxes, fades into darker blue with beaming pulsing rings and the same "radar" circling, then black lines containing texts wipe out vertically as three globes fade out one-by-one, while the screen fades into a close-up of a brightened silver Earth globe on an empty dark blue background, with the footage of running horses reappearing over the screen. A multitude of circling texts from before appear from the right, settling on the said globe which moves to the left as the metallic "ВЕСТИ" flickers letter-by-letter and zooms in at the center, while three outlined copies of it appear over the screen, flipping, zooming and fading out. The globe with circling texts returns on the left, but with the former being solid gray, while the background color becomes shady. Initially blurry, a red horizontal line appears forming below the program title and the white, spaced-out condensed text "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ" fades in on it, while circling text eventually settle still.
Variants: Two short variants exist:
- On a teal background with two pillar boxes of dark blue shades and a boxed cut-out of a bright gradient between them, there are multiple red and blue circular lines zooming out, while the program title appears with its outlines in the exact same way as the opening, albeit in the bottom. As a box turns red, a gray sphere with circling texts slides from the left, while multiple red text reading the program title in a futuristic font flicker atop of the screen. As a sphere and the program title at the bottom settle, a red bar with the condensed text "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ" fades in above the box and the right side of the background gains a dark gradient as the box reverts back to its original colors.
- On a teal background filled with zooming circles as well as blue and red circular lines, a gray sphere with circling texts is placed in the center of the screen, with its parts inside a boxed cut-out, placed at the upper-right corner of the screen, colored in sky blue. Near the right center of the screen are mutliple flickering red texts of the program title forming a red bar at the bottom of a cut-out, on which the text "СЛУЖБА НОВОСТЕЙ" then fades in as one of the circling texts stops below near the left.
Technique: CGI animation mixed with live-action footages.
Audio: The music from the previous intro, albeit with a patriotic four-note synth-brass score added near the middle part.
4th Intro (February 21, 2000-May 13, 2001)
Visuals: On a black background, a cyan lens flare flashes on the left, causing the screen to transition into a multitude of bluish glass letters (in Pragmatica Bold) of the program title, flying in a lower-left perspective against a blue aurora-like background. This scene eventually fades into several rotating rings formed by the same letters, with half of them being set in the OCR A font, while other letters shoot out to the center to form a globe of their blue texts as another globe of texts, colored with slate blue and set in a lowercase serif font, appears zooming in along with the former and the background fades to black with a cloudy-like cyan vignette. The camera then zooms away through a rotating globe of all texts' variations folded into one form. At the bottom of the screen, transparent bluish squares with cut-outs of the program title's letters zoom in and out, causing the silver gradient text "ВЕСТИ" to appear along with a medium blue bar behind it, containing a boxed cut-out at the lower-right corner and a blurry end at its upper-right, while a red bar wipes in above the text on the left as the cut-out of the latter slides in on it. The globe continues to rotate after the camera has stopped.
Variants:
- From February-March and during November 2000, the background remained black with a cloudy-like vignette changing colors (from blue and purple to eventually settling on cyan). A globe formed by shooting letters also simply has their outlines. At the end, when the camera settles still, the sequence of a rotating globe with texts fades into a still shot of a bluish one engulfed by multiple circling bright texts set in FreeSet ExtraBold, with a yellow-ish shade on the left side of the screen.
- There are three short variants of this intro:
- The first one has a reversed shot of the camera zooming through a globe of various texts reading the program title.
- The second one has a small box in the center of the screen containing the said reversed shot, with the background behind it being a darkened and zoomed-in version of it.
- The third one has a similar concept to the previous variant, but the sequence inside a box has each glassy blue letter of the program title zooming towards the camera between two slowly rotating circles containing the said letters. Another row of letters stop towards the screen and settle themselves in the distance to form the program title.
- There are also two special broadcast variants:
- At the end of the intro, when everything settles, a dark blue bar, with an upper translucent shady half and a short white-colored end above, slides in at the bottom of the screen, causing a dark blue rectangle to flip in atop of it with a white outline, on which the chromed "ВЕСТИ" (set in FreeSet ExtraBold) fades in and zooms out letter-by-letter as a red-white horizontal gradient line wipes in above bringing up the red bar on the right, with a white-colored upper end, reading "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК" in white as a shorter upper red-colored part wipes in below a white end of the main bar on the left. During the appearance of red parts, the right side of a bottom half of the main bar wipes into cyan with a blurry red upper end.
- Sometimes, for the regular intro, another red bar fades in above the program title on the right, with narrowed gray-ish text on it reading "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК".
Technique: CGI animation.
Audio: A dramatic orchestrated piece complete with orchestral hits, piano notes and brass scores.
Audio Variant: Short variants have a downward/upward piano scale over orchestral hits.
5th Intro (May 14-September 14, 2001)
Visuals: An enhanced version of the previous intro. The first shot with a lens flare is tinted with navy blue, flying letters in the next shot have a different glass texture and the background is solid dark blue; in this shot, two more sets of these letters tumble onto the screen to form rings. The screen then fades into a globe formed by dark blue horizontal stripes, with white "ВЕСТИ" texts written on them, surrounded by rotating rings containing the same texts. As the globe zooms towards the screen, rings fade into a globe, formed by the said texts, zooming out and the screen then fades to a camera zooming out through a striped globe with texts from before, revealing the same rotating rings around it. A dark slate blue horizontal rectangle, with a white outline and the scanline overlay, then wipes through rings at the front of a globe and the silver text "ВЕСТИ" fades in and zooms out on it letter-by-letter, while the camera slowly zooms towards the globe and rings keep rotating.
Technique: CGI animation.
Audio: The music from the previous intro.

Visuals: The sequence starts with the screen zooming from a bluish grayscale shot of the clock on the Spasskaya Tower. The zooming effect accelerates, causing the screen to flash into a light steel blue vertical gradient background with a transparent footage of three horses galloping with a carriage behind them in the Red Square and a multitude of blurry moving horizontal stripes below. A horizontal row of horizontal boxes, containing three running horses in colors of a Russian flag leaving tri-colored wavy flags behind, zooms in piece-by-piece above blurry stripes before duplicating at a low framerate and then blurring out linearly, while the white serif text "ВЕСТИ" appears below increasing its spacing before disappearing in the same blur effect. The screen then fades to a rotating gray Earth globe, filled with another transparent footage of galloping horses with a carriage (where the Spasskaya Tower can be seen in the background) and surrounded by larger transparent globes on a light gray gradient background. As four boxes containing the shot of a rotating globe with two horizontal white lines, the small dark blue serif text reading the program title at the bottom and the black text "в программе" to its left, all in a brightened "posterize" effect, fade in and out below, the camera zooms from the lower-left area to reveal galloping tri-colored horses leaving moving flags atop of a gray globe as well as a transparent vertically-aligned Russian flag near the upper-left corner in the background. The screen then flashes to a light steel blue gradient background containing two globes in close-up featuring two more footages of galloping horses with a carriage behind (this time in the forest) against moving clouds, while a row of footages with a globe and the texts from before reappears at the bottom of the screen as well as smaller boxes, containing the camera zooming by tri-colored horses facing left on a light gray background, appear atop of their front and the white "ВЕСТИ" text from the beginning appearing in the usual way above. As two rows of footages switch their places and the white text blurs out, the sequence above cuts to a transparent gray Earth globe near the right with another footage of galloping horses in the Red Square on the same background for a brief second before flashing to tri-colored horses galloping to the left while leaving wavy flags behind, while the bottom of the screen is now engulfed by brighter blurry horizontal stripes. Four boxes of transparent zooming shots of galloping horses fade in one-by-one and then zoom out to reveal smaller boxes of the same zooming shot with tri-colored horses below. Everything except the background, which now also has a transparent footage of galloping horses in the street, then blurs out linearly and a transparent globe from before slides from the left and settles to the right side of the screen, while a smaller group of blurry horizontal stripes, with shades of a Russian flag on the right, appears closer to the center. A ball of light flashes on it and goes to the right, causing tri-colored horses with wavy flags behind from before to appear near the left, while a glowing bluish outline of the serif text reading the program title is revealed by a masked vertical bar going to the right while revealing its parts. A glowing horizontal line flashes below horses causing the same text, albeit filled in dark blue and with a white outline, to appear next to horses on the right, while a bright shade fades in behind to its left.
Trivia: The sequence of a globe and the text "в программе ВЕСТИ" was used in the program at the beginning for the list of headline sections.
Variants:
- In the special broadcast variant, a red horizontal line with a blurry right end and the white text "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК" fades in below horses and the program title on the left. The size of the line and font of the text vary.
- A short variant simply has the finished shot with horses slightly sliding from the right.
- Starting around 2002, the intro simply starts off with a light steel blue gradient background with the footage of galloping horses; the flashing effect remains intact when a row of boxes appears.
Technique: A mix of CGI and 2D computer animation with live-action footages by Teleatelie, a then-newly formed design studio of Semyon Levin (the former head of NTV-Design).
Audio:
- September 15-October 7, 2001: A re-arranged portion of "Piano Concerto No. 1" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed on a synth-string and piano and complete with a hi-hat/cymbal percussion and drumrolls by Sergey Pedchenko.
- October 9, 2001-August 31, 2002: A higher-pitched re-orchestration of the same Tchaikovsky music, this time composed on a synth-brass with a drum percussion by Adrian Korczynski.
Audio Variant: The short variant uses an ascending, dramatic nine-note synth-orchestral score.

Victory Day variant (2005-2006)
Visuals: On a dark blue background with a black horizontal center, the screen is divided into two parts by a horizontal line placed near the bottom. A bright blue shade with slowly scrolling white text reading Russian cities' names is seen above the line as a multitude of rapidly changing/flickering small numbers appears forming on the left, while a close-up of a rotating globe only consisting of dodger blue continents fades in the lower half of the screen, causing its wireframe patterns to form around the screen. Eventually, several glowing blue wavy curves suddenly flash in, revealing three light blue-tinted horses formed by numbers, harnessed to a cart, galloping to the right. The screen then wipes via a vertical arc going to the left, causing the footage to zoom in and glowing waves flying towards the camera as texts of numbers with degrees and minutes appear scrolling on a horizontal line. The screen then wipes the same way so that the footage would zoom away as blurry dodger blue horizontal stripes form above the line. The screen then wipes to an undivided shot featuring horses galloping towards the viewer as more glowing wavy curves fly in, with changing numbers zooming out and the names of Russian cities zooming in and fading out. The screen then fades to a close-up of galloping horses at a 3/4 angle and wipes back to two divided parts, with a line having a shinier shade and a slowly scrolling text reading the program title and the lower half of the screen being empty. Multiple glowing waves fly out in the upper half to reveal the same formation of horses from numbers, surrounded by a bright blue haze below, as the then-new Vesti logo (five blue squares containing white letters of the program title in Engravers Gothic) forms in the lower half on the right through multiple small squares shooting out, along with the white text of URL sliding in below (added around late 2002) letter-by-letter. Everything except the background then flashes once in a linear blur effect.
Variants:
- For early variant (2002-2003), its short variant starts with a shot of horses, galloping to the right, forming from numbers, then the screen wipes to a final part with the appearance of the logo.
- In the special broadcast variant, a red bar with the white text "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК" wipes in below URL.
- Starting on March 1, 2003, the first shot with the formation of horses simply wipes to the part where they gallop in front. The transitions between last shots also seem to occur faster.
- There exists a Victory Day variant (2005-2006): In the last shot, the lower half of the screen has a shady dark red background with a red cloth moving in the middle; at its upper-right corner is the white Vesti logo, where the red text "9МАЯ", with the number masked by the program's logo and connected letters next to it, fades in below. As the URL (set in a different font) fades in at the upper-left corner of the screen, the program's logo along with text below flash once.
Technique: A mix of CGI and 2D computer animation with live-action footage.
Audio: A dramatic new-age synth/orchestral fanfare, loosely based on the Tchaikovsky music from before, complete with a fast-paced electronic percussion as well as a choir around the second half. As the music goes on when the intro fades to a news studio, it segues to a dreamy synth/piano sounder that eventually ends with an orchestral hit and a drawn-out note. It was composed by Alexander Petrunin.
Audio Variants:
- In the earliest version of this intro, the music sounds slightly re-arranged with a more prominent reverberation.
- The short variant of an early version simply uses a dreamy synth/piano sounder with an orchestral hit.
- For the later version, the second half of the music is cut off, simply ending with an orchestral hit and a long note.

Victory Day variant
Visuals: The camera zooms in a titled angle towards several circling, glassy rectangles with some red lines around a shady blue environment, containing small white lines and bars with text elements resembling a computer data or code, with a closest rectangle to the viewer featuring small texts of words related to news or information, including the program title on the left beginning, which slide to the right. As the camera zooms into another circling rectangle, the latter's interface forms an overlayed footage of galloping horses behind a carriage in front via mutliple horizontal lines. The screen then cuts to another shot at a different tilted angle, showing more circling rectangles with white geometric elements going to the right, with one of them having multiple appearing lines forming the map of Russia and then a group of horizontal barcode-like lines and stacked names of Russian cities to their left on the next rectangle. The screen then cuts to multiple transparent sky blue cubes zooming to form the Vesti logo from before in white with transparent letters on the right against royal blue rectangles with geometric elements, red lines and a world map, circling against a dark blue background with shining blurry vertical bars; once the logo is formed, a blue gradient horizontal bar quickly wipes in on the right side of the screen below, with URL written on it in white.
Variants:
- In the special broadcast variant, the bar below the logo is red, is extended to the latter's left and has the text reading "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК".
- An evening broadcast (8 PM) variant was introduced in 2009: It starts out with a zooming shot of horses on a rectangle's interface, albeit on a darker blue background, then the screen fades to a recreation of the final shot with logo; the background is a dark royal blue horizontal gradient with blurry bars moving away to the right, the rectangles also have darker textures and move slower, and the program's logo appears by simply zooming out letter-by-letter, while the URL bar appears in almost the same way below, albeit by a transparent, larger and brighter bar wiping it before fading out.
- Its Victory Day variant also exists, where the shining golden serif text "9 МАЯ", with the latter word placed at the bottom front of "9", fades in below the URL bar.
Technique: CGI animation, utilizing live-action footage at the beginning.
Audio: A re-orchestration of the previous intro's 2003 theme, composed by Alexander Saloid, who would later compose music for program's later intros starting with 2013-15 ones.
Audio Variants: The 8 PM and Victory Day variants use a bombastic orchestral/rock piece, which is actually an ending snippet of "Urgent Business" by Tom Blades.
9th Intro (September 5, 2010-April 8, 2015)
Visuals: The sequence starts with a Russian map formed by a multitude of small white dots against a shady dark blue digitalized environment of multiple vertical lines with small glowing geometric bars and dots. As several small texts of Russian city names type in over the screen, the camera zooms through the said map to reveal a map of the Earth and then multiple changing numbers around the environment. When the camera goes around more dots, words related to news topics and then returning names of Russian cities, it eventually settles and turns around as a group of smaller, glassy blue vertical lines appears forming three galloping horses from before, before the screen gets engulfed by a darker blue background with brighter and larger moving diagonal bars when the camera zooms out. As the camera settles still to reveal a rotating glassy Earth globe, a glossy white horizontal bar, with dark blue text "ВЕСТИ" (set in a customized condensed font called Russia-Bold) on it, appears flipping in and zooming to the center of the screen.
Variants:
- There exists a prototype variant, where the final logo has a darker and more shinier shade and the program title is set in Franklin Gothic.
- In the special broadcast variant, when the Vesti logo appears, a thin translucent red border with white text "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК" wipes in at the bottom of the screen.
Technique: CGI animation.
Audio: A triumphant electronic/orchestral fanfare accompanied by drums in the second half, composed by Anton Gryzlov.
10th Intro (October 17, 2013 (11 PM variant)-September 3, 2017)
Visuals:
- Regular (April 9, 2015-September 3, 2017): The camera zooms and turns around a group of abstract linear/curvy, metallic/faintly glowing blue bars settling together to form the program title in a dark blue sci-fi environment with a world map in the background, formed in a futuristic style by tiny dots (some of them which glow) and some light streaks, and a glossy surface filled with moving geomertic lines and bars as well as a ball of light seen in the center from afar. After three shots of this sequence, once the bars finally formed the text (now set in a slightly different condensed font), a transparent horizontal bar fades in around the latter when the camera zooms out, making it faintly glow and turn flat-shaded in dark blue as the bar wipes into a glossy white vertical gradient.
- 11 PM:
- 2013-2014: It's a modified version of the regular intro debuted two years later, where the background is slightly darker, the environment looks more detailed and bars also have cyan hologram parts and moving red lines while forming the program title: The sequence starts with two shots of the camera turing around bars as they slowly settle to form the text. Then, the screen shows the text seen from afar as the camera goes from the right to its front as the program title forms into the Vesti logo as usual, which then shortens, with its last four letters turning into vertical bars (each left of which is brighter), and goes to the left as its right part extends into a much longer bar in a glossy dark blue-black horizontal gradient, with white Echo Sans text "Вести в 23:00" on it.
- 2014-2017: In 2014, the intro was upgraded; transitioning from the news studio, the camera zooms from the upper counter of "В" and turns around the bars on the left in the first shot. The background is slightly brighter and the surface also has more glowing geometric lines during the formation of the text; the right bar in the final logo also has a more teal-ish shade.
- 8 PM:
- September 8, 2014-April 7, 2015: It's a modified version of the 11 PM intro of the time: Two more shots of forming letters are added at the beginning, with the camera zooming from the footage of the headlines section displayed on top of one of the bars on the left in the first shot. The text in the long bar also reads "Вести в 20:00".
- April 8, 2015-September 1, 2017: Transitioning from the footage of the headlines section displayed on one of the metallic bars, the camera zooms out to reveal the silver clock face with Roman numerals and upper golden caps in close-up in a dark blue sci-fi environment filled with blue/gold-doted world maps. When the numerals' golden caps fly up off-screen, leaving blue trails, the camera flies accross the clock face and rotates upside down to its side face, which is then revealed to be the "ВЕСТИ" text formed by metallic/golden bars set in the usual background from the regular intro, albeit with half of the dots and lines colored in yellow. As the camera zooms out, the Vesti logo appears as usual and then shortens to cast a longer bar in glossy dark blue on the right where the usual text appears.
Regular Intro Variant: In the special broadcast variant, a glossy dark blue gradient bar wipes in below the program's logo once it's formed, with white text "Специальный выпуск" on it. Sometime in 2015, the text originally read "Спецвыпуск".
Later 8 PM Intro Variants:
- Starting on July 1, 2015, the bar of the Vesti logo simply has a white-gray vertical gradient and the text is dark blue with a glossy shine, with each left vertical bar turning into an outline when the logo shortens; when the final logo is formed, they also vanish and then reappear. The white text on the right bar is also set in a different, customized font called Vesti Sans.
- Starting on October 3, 2016, the letters in the Vesti logo simply slide and wipe out as the white-colored bar shortens into a vertical line, leaving the long right part with the text intact.
Technique: CGI animation by TvConcept.
Audio: A majestic new-age orchestral fanfare complete with drums and a bell toll and sometimes a calm electronic section at the end. It varies depending on the intro variation, but normally composed in the C major.
11th Intro (September 4, 2017-)
Visuals:
- Regular:
- September 4, 2017-March 17, 2019: It's an upgraded version of the previous intro; the bar of the finished logo is solid white and the text simply has a dark-sky blue vertical gradient.
- March 18, 2019-: The camera zooms from a map of the Earth formed by multiple bluish horizontal bars, containing glowing texts reading the capital names of the countries with a population number, with shooting light streaks around them in a brighter blue environment. It then flies through bars while rotating, revealing an environment of larger glassy bars everywhere, containing glowing sci-fi/geometric elements including thick lines. The screen then reveals the outside of the environment, which is a segmented CGI Vesti logo, with multiple cubes forming a white bar and linear/curvy stripes forming dark blue shiny text, set in a blue futuristic environment with a glowing world map in the background, with each country containing texts of its capital name and population number, glassy surface filled with geometric bars and a ball of light in the center from afar. As the camera zoomed out, the logo turns flat-shaded in its usual colors, albeit with the text having a slightly darker gradient.
- Morning:
- April 2017-February 24, 2023: Transitioning from the footage of the headlines section displayed on the side of one of the segmented bars (starting in September 2017), the camera zooms out to reveal a bunch of glassy blue segmented bars with glowing sci-fi elements and curvy metallic stripes in a blue sky envrionment with a sunrise in the center and glassy larger bars everywhere. Then there are next two shots of camera moving around the glassy bars and curving stripes settling together. In the last shot, the camera zooms out as they eventually form the program title, causing the Vesti logo appear as usual, while the glassy bars on the sides of the screen, along with a segmented surface, are revealed to have abstract geometric lines with shooting curves, dots and numbers.
- February 27, 2023-: It's a remade version of the 2017 morning intro; it starts off with a transition of multiple wiping blue rectangles going to the right while highlighting blurry parts of the screen before wiping out to the right. After that, the screen shows different shots of linear/curvy bars settling together to form the program title. In the last shot, a surface is revealed to be a group of black vertical bars with glowing blue dots and light streaks in them; as the camera zooms out, much cleaner glassy rectangles, on which glowing world maps are depicted, wipe in on the sides of the screen. Brighter geometric bars remain intact above in the air.
- 8 PM: It's an updated, slightly sped-up version of the previous evening intro; when the program title is revealed, the Vesti logo appears in a dark blue gradient with a glossy shine, with the text being white. It remains intact as it slides to the left to cast a royal-dark blue horizontal gradient bar to its right, with white text "В 20:00" wiping in on its bottom center. Starting on August 30, 2021, the intro starts with a transition of multiple wiping golden rectangles going to the right while highlighting blurry parts of the screen before wiping out to the right.
Regular Intro Variant: In the special broadcast variant (still in use in tandem with the later regular intro) of an early version, as the Vesti logo appears, the bar's initial color was light blue before turning white and the text has a slightly darker gradient. When it's formed, a larger, translucent shady blue bar wipes from its upper-left corner behind the logo, then the white text "СПЕЦИАЛЬНЫЙ ВЫПУСК" slides in on the bottom below the latter.
Technique: CGI animation by TvConcept.
