Tutorial:Pink petal and wildflower farming
Pink petal or wildflower farming can be done in several ways.
When bone meal is applied to them, they drop a copy of themselves, similar to tall flowers.
Pink petals can be generated when bone meal is applied to a grass block in cherry groves, and wildflowers can be generated when bone meal is applied to a grass block in birch forests, old growth birch forests, or meadows.
Designs
[edit | edit source]To make a basic farm:
- Place a collection hopper with a mud block on top of it.
- The hopper should point into a collection chest.
- Place pink petals or wildflowers (whichever you want to farm) on the mud.
- Place a dispenser next to and facing the pink petals.
- Surround every other side with blocks, including the top.
- This prevents any items from getting lost.
- Make a redstone clock and connect it to the dispenser if you want it to be automatic.
- You can also just use a lever; spam-click for lots and count clicks to get precise amounts.
- Place a hopper feeding from a chest to the dispenser.
- Fill the upper chest with bone meal and activate the redstone clock/start flipping the lever.
Replace the pink petals in the blueprint with wildflowers for a wildflower farm.
After building this farm, make sure the hopper below the mud points into the lower chest and the hopper under the upper chest points into the dispenser. Make sure the dispenser is facing the pink petals/wildflowers, then fill the upper chest with bone meal and connect a redstone clock/lever to the dispenser.
You will need one bone meal per pink petal/wildflower you want to produce. A bone meal farm is recommended.
This farm can produce up to 10 flowers per second, or 36,000 per hour, consuming an equivalent amount of bonemeal. However, hoppers cannot keep up with this production rate after becoming full - they can only really handle 2.5 per second if they have no empty slots to fill.
