Possible way to check what changed to fix the crash?

[edit source]

I just thought of an idea. Since there are now deobfuscated versions of the game .jars, maybe someone could look for file(s) that changed between rc1 and rc2, perform some kind of diff check. That would at least tell us what code was changed to fix the crash, and maybe could tell us in what scenarios the crash happened. Milo359 (talk) 19:31, 6 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

A line saying what changed has already been added, but a code reference is needed, so here are the differences:
net.minecraft.server.level.GenerationChunkHolder:
line 41: changed:
rc1: if (pos.getChessboardDistance(ChunkPos.ZERO) > ChunkPos.MAX_COORDINATE_VALUE) {
rc2: if (!pos.isValid()) {

net.minecraft.util.Mth:
line 132: added:
rc2:
public static int absMax(final int a, final int b) {
  return Math.max(Math.abs(a), Math.abs(b));
}
public static float absMax(final float a, final float b) {
   return Math.max(Math.abs(a), Math.abs(b));
}
extra to the already existing
public static double absMax(final double a, final double b) {
   return Math.max(Math.abs(a), Math.abs(b));
}
(Difference? “int”, “float”, “double”)
And obviously also some version-specific numbers, that are always changed. -- Nomis12 (T|C) NL Admin 09:39, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
