Snow Layers do Drop

[edit source]

In Windows 10 edition, when destroyed with hands will occasionally drop from snow instead of never dropping. They drop Top Snow in varied thicknesses. Sulhir (talk) 02:07, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

This may be a bug. You may wish to report it on the bug tracker. The Blobs 03:02, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please clarify generation

[edit source]

In the natural generation section, can you please clarify whether the elevation affects generation in snowy biomes? As written, it's ambiguous whether the subordinate clause "above 90" modifies both conjoined noun phrases, or only the second. Martinthurn (talk) 18:41, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Snow generation needs specifying

[edit source]

What exactly are all the biomes where it can happen? What exactly are the required altitudes in each of them? Keep in mind that some old hills (1.17) can still generate snow, despite seeiming to be much lower than the 1.18+ mountains. 2001:7D0:81DC:3680:DC8C:D8F0:1869:1239 13:14, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

you have a point. I will test it 223.167.68.108 12:10, 7 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Snow is missing falling block entity
Most falling blocks like sand and gravel have falling block entity, but snow isn't. Should we add this ?

I've added it, but I'm not sure if the data is taken from Java Edition. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) 11:45, 15 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Snowy Grass

[edit source]

So there's this snowy grass block that can generate in Minecraft. What can we do about it? I can't seem to find it anywhere on this wiki. Here's a Reddit post about it. There are also examples on the internet. EdwardHerobrine (talk) 11:11, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

It's just a Snowy Grass Block. See Grass Block#History.  Nixinova   T   C   11:17, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
But can we at least add an image or something about it? EdwardHerobrine (talk) 11:19, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I just did, see the infobox at Grass Block. --MinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 11:22, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I just want more people to know about this block. I'm not exactly a wiki-savvy guy however. EdwardHerobrine (talk) 11:23, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's not really a block, it's just a block state variant of grass. It's like Log Facing West or Waterlogged Stair.  Nixinova   T   C   11:25, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I  Agree that it's not a block, but it still looks different so I think it's worth having an image of it. --MinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 12:12, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
As per Nixinova, it's a block state of the regular grass block, see Grass Block#Block states. I've also added it to the infobox. --MinecraftExp123(talk|contribs) 11:18, 25 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

After a brief experiment in Bedrock Edition, I can confirm that [Light Blocks](<https://minecraft.wiki/w/Light_(block)>) at or above a light level of 13 can melt adjacent snow in varying ranges. While none of my mods should affect this, I would still recommend further experimentation regardless.
