Hey, I'm Mik

I'm a self-taught web developer specialized in front-end technologies (semantic HTML, modern CSS and JavaScript/TypeScript) who's expanding his skill set towards the backend. I began my journey as a graphic design student in 2013, when I wanted to build an interactive portfolio. I've been at it ever since.

Namely, I'm currently spending time learning about how to:

  • set up server software applications using JavaScript runtimes
  • create and manage relational databases (primarily with PostgreSQL and SQLite)
  • administer my own virtual private server (VPS)

Of course, I'm also keeping track of the latest additions to the web platform.

Books that I'm currently reading:

  • Designing Data-Intensive Applications (2nd edition)
  • The Healthy Programmer (2nd edition)
  • Deep Work
