I am a veteran distributed systems architect, control plane engineer, and former engineering leader based in the Pacific Northwest. My career has been cleanly split between scaling early-stage startups to acquisition and managing hyper-scale cloud infrastructure at global scale.
- The Startup Footprint: I was the foundational first employee at NetMerchant (which evolved into On Technology / Codisto), building the early e-commerce engine long before its eventual acquisition by Shopify.
- The Hyper-Scale Era: Spent over 12 years at Amazon Web Services (AWS) climbing from a Build Engineer on Amazon Silk to a Software Development Manager, directly owning the backend control planes, high-availability architecture, and release automation powering AWS End User Computing (WorkSpaces, AppStream, and Display Protocols utilizing Amazon DCV technology).
Right now, I am enjoying a period of semi-retirement and taking an intentional career sabbatical. I use my GitHub primarily to tinker with personal software architecture projects, explore new distributed system patterns, and keep my tools sharp.
- Core Focus: Distributed Systems Architecture, Control Plane Engineering, Performance Optimization, CI/CD Automation.
- Languages & Systems of Choice: C/C++, C#, Java, Python, Linux Systems Internals.
I am not actively hunting for a traditional full-time corporate role, but I keep my door unlocked for selective independent technical consulting, early-stage advisory engagements, or deeply complex infrastructure puzzles.
