I have a project that links to many DOIs, which is a redirect service to provide persistent URLs that can be updated as the publisher modifies their URLs. These may point to URLs that require authentication and you ultimately get a 403 error. As long as the DOI resolves to some URL, I'm happy. However, if I simply blacklist doi.org, I can't identify bad DOIs that don't resolve at all.
I would like to be able to write:
[hosts."doi.org"]
accept = ["302"]
max_redirects = 0
Really, most of the request config fields would be nice to be able to set per-host.
