@hardbeat920 HI, I apologise in advance for the big PR but that's the most minimal implementation i could come up with. Starting with just APFS (OSX) support. |

Oh I would've expect that :) it's not a small feature I think later in the week I will get some more time to dig deeper into it as it's an important one and I would love to get this right so I myself can stop using worktrees 😁 |

@hardbeat920 sure, no rush, meanwhile, I'm keeping the PR up to date and mergable with main while testing it as my daily driver. |

Most ADEs use Git worktrees for isolation, but I find them cumbersome:
I’d like to see copy-on-write (CoW) as another built-in isolation option. On supported filesystems, unchanged files share storage, while changes are stored separately. That could make setup faster and reduce disk usage.
Polyscope is an example of an ADE using this approach. I’d be happy to work on a PR, but first I’d like to know whether there’s interest.
