Effort Analysis:
The nightly release process (defined in .github/workflows/release-nightly.yml) is a high-complexity integration task. It orchestrates a multi-job workflow that includes building unsigned macOS binaries (.github/workflows/build-unsigned-mac-binaries.yml), running a comprehensive test suite across unit and integration levels (.github/actions/run-tests/action.yml), and executing a sophisticated publishing sequence (.github/actions/publish-release/action.yml). The failure title 'Nightly Release Failed for on 2026-09-03' indicates an empty RELEASE_TAG output, pointing to a failure in steps preceding the version calculation in scripts/get-release-version.js, such as npm ci, artifact downloads, or the integration tests which utilize bubblewrap and require consistent GEMINI_API_KEY access. Furthermore, the build process in scripts/build_binary.js involves Single Executable Application (SEA) generation using node --experimental-sea-config and postject, as well as staging platform-specific native modules like node-pty. Debugging this requires cross-environment verification and potentially resolving flakiness in the automation scripts or integration test environment, which aligns with the effort/medium guidelines for 'Asynchronous Flow & Integration' and 'resolving hanging requests/IPC between CLI and external plugins' (or in this case, CI runners and API services).
