What You Are Seeing?

In the official installation instructions for ansible, this is the proposed ansible code:

- name: Ensure Chocolatey installed from internal repo
  win_chocolatey:
    name: chocolatey
    state: present
    source: http://internal/odata/repo/ChocolateyInstall.ps1

With this, the chocolatey package (.nupkg) is always being downloaded from community.chocolatey.org, even though I'd like to download it from an internal artifactory mirror.

What is Expected?

According to the documentation on the win_chocolatey ansible module, it shouldn't be the source field, but the bootstrap_script that specifies the powershell file:

- name: Ensure Chocolatey installed from internal repo
  win_chocolatey:
    name: chocolatey
    state: present
    bootstrap_script: http://internal/odata/repo/ChocolateyInstall.ps1

This leaves the option to also specify source, source_username and source_password. Only with these options set, the role will download chocolatey nupkg from the specified internal mirror.

How Did You Get This To Happen?

  1. Follow the website instructions for ansible
