[BUG] Crashes and loses all session information #4243

Environment

• Claude CLI version: 1.0.53 (Claude Code)
• Operating System: Linux 5.15.0-144-generic Add NPM version badge #157-Ubuntu SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
• Terminal: xterm

Bug Description

When Claude Code crashes or is closed and started again in the same IDE and project, the knowledge of the project, TODO list is lost.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Launch IDE, go to terminal, launch Claude
2. Perform work
3. Close IDE
4. Open new IDE and open project
5. Launch claude. Knowledge of project is lost.

Expected Behavior

Claude should remember where we left off, store todo list in ~/.claude somewhere.

Actual Behavior

Claude has to relearn the project.
