Description
Guys, I love this project and use it very heavily.
I must say, it the best tool out there in many ways so well done!
But your developer prompt is so bad its hard to believe its a real thing.
'user: move this 10000 line file one dir up'
'agent: I wonder if I should use mv, but the developer explicitly said I must use edit tools, so let me manually delete the 10000 lines with an empty file, then manually type out every char of that file in the new location'
Guys this is so bad I cannot put it in words. Why are we forcing the agent to spend 20k minimum tokens instead of just using the shell?
More importantly, this is just 1 example of many, the real problem is, why are you building all the ceremony into the binary? Why are you trying to decide for the developer how they must work and what tools they must use?
I understand that this is a rather hard problem, but opencode's developer prompt is litterly my BIGGEST challenge of my day to day work. NOT SOLVING REAL PROBLEMS, but rather fighting with the bloody system prompt to stop being extremely waistful and slow just because of tooling preferences.
