Feature hasn't been suggested before.
Describe the enhancement you want to request
Currently, there is no way to quickly locate specific information within a long session in the desktop app. Users have to manually scroll through history to find specific keywords or previous instructions, which is inefficient for long-running threads.
It would be very helpful to have a "Find" functionality implemented for the desktop app, triggered by the standard Cmd+F (macOS) or Ctrl+F (Windows/Linux) shortcuts.
Key features should probably include:
- A search bar overlay that appears upon using the shortcut
- Text highlighting for all matches within the currently opened session
- Automatic scrolling to the nearest occurrence if none are currently visible
- "Next" and "Previous" navigation to jump between matches
I am aware of issue #4714, which tracks this same functionality for the TUI. I think it makes sense to track the desktop app's implementation independently.
