The /update command is a littel weird for me #12727

Description

Problems

Today, I got a new-version notification when starting qwen in Windows PowerShell.

  1. Run /update; it will download the new version with a progress bar.
  2. Then the qwen console quits automatically to apply the upgrade.

But when running qwen again, it still shows the new version information. I tried quitting the terminal and reopening it to start qwen again

Qwen Code update available! 0.24.5 → 0.24.6
The update will be installed after you exit this session.

I also tried running /quit to end the conversation explicitly, but I got this in the terminal (PowerShell).

Qwen Code update available! 0.24.5 → 0.24.6
Automatic update failed. Please try updating manually.

It is a little weird.

Expected Results

Ideally, it should download new versions automatically in the background, without breaking the current conversation, and apply the new version to the next conversation with qwen or qwen --resume.
