Problem

  • backfill-attestation.yml existed only to retroactively sign the published bytes of 0.1.0-beta.1, the single release predating the signed pipeline

Why

  • It was a genuine one-off with nothing left to sign; forward releases carry provenance via release.yml, so the job is dead weight

Greptile Summary

Removes the completed one-off GitHub Actions workflow for retroactively attesting the 0.1.0-beta.1 release assets.

  • Forward releases continue to generate provenance through release.yml.
  • Existing attestations remain stored independently of the deleted workflow.

Confidence Score: 5/5

The PR appears safe to merge because it removes a completed one-off workflow without affecting forward release attestations or existing attestation records.

The deleted workflow was specifically intended to retroactively attest one historical release, while the active release workflow continues to attest all three distributed assets for future tag-based releases.

Important Files Changed

Filename Overview
.github/workflows/backfill-attestation.yml Deletes an explicitly one-off manual backfill workflow; no concrete regression was identified because forward releases retain attestation coverage and existing attestations are unaffected.
