About
Natanya Morayo Popoola (born September 5, 2002), also known professionally as Natanya, is a Nigerian and Indian singer-songwriter and producer from Wembley, England.
Drawing from various inspirations such as Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Tyler, the Creator’s “Cherry Bomb”, and Amy Winehouse’s “Frank”, her music blends elements of motown, calypso, jazz, neo-soul, British pop, and contemporary R&B.
At the age of 4, Natanya began classical piano training, eventually reaching Grade 6; however, she struggled with sight-reading the music.
At age 14, she auditioned for the ‘Julien Joseph Jazz Academy’ (JJJA), where she learned to transcribe by ear. After discovering Tyler, the Creator, Natanya learned to produce music on Logic Pro, with the help of her music teacher.
Her debut single, “Sunset Melody”, was released in April 2019, which she created during her time in Music GCSE with a friend. In September 2019, she released “Blue Jay,” which contained songs like “Free,” “Evidence,” and “Home.”
Her debut EP, Sorrow At Sunrise, was released through AURA x MOVES Recordings on September 23, 2023. The project features songs like “Angel,” “Precious Joy,” and “23,” which talk about the uncomfortable feelings of growing up. Natanya then released an IZCO remix of “Angel” a month later.
In June 2025, she released her sophomore EP, Feline’s Return Act I, which contained six tracks, including “Dangerous” and “Daydream.”
Later, on October 10 2025, she released the follow-up EP, Feline’s Return Act II, which only contained five tracks, one being the popular single, “Jezebel.”
These two EPs were then combined into Natanya’s debut album, Feline’s Return.
By September 2026, Natanya will release her sophomore album, ATTITUDE ERA!, which features the hit singles, “CANDYLAND!” and “PLAY WITH A KISS!”, that quickly became some of her most popular songs.
