Learn what CHEMM offers and how to use it. Visit the About CHEMM page for an overview of features and intended use.
To download and use the CHEMM, users should have:
A modern internet browser that supports Progressive Web Apps, such as current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, or Samsung Internet.
A device running a supported operating system, such as Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, or ChromeOS.
An internet connection for initial installation, updates, and access to preparedness resources that are not available offline.
Sufficient device storage to install the application and store offline response content.
Browser settings that allow local storage, caching, and service worker functionality.
The CHEMM is designed to support offline access to response-related content after download. Some preparedness resources and updates require internet connectivity.
For best performance and security, users should keep their browser and operating system up to date.
By downloading and installing the CHEMM App, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
The CHEMM App provides access to CHEMM resources that support hazardous chemical emergency preparedness and response. Content and tools intended to support active incident response are available for use without an internet connection after the application has been installed and required content has been downloaded. Certain preparedness resources, reference materials, and other features require an active internet connection to access information.
To provide the most current information, security improvements, and application features, the CHEMM App is designed to update automatically when:
Your device has an active internet connection.
Updated application files are available.
These updates may occur in the background without additional action on your part. You may be prompted to refresh or reopen the application to complete an update.
Because emergency response guidance may change, users should connect to the internet whenever possible to receive the latest available version of the application and its content.
The CHEMM App stores selected application files and content on your device to support offline access. Information available while offline may not reflect the most current updates until the application reconnects to the internet and synchronizes.
Users should verify they are using the latest available information whenever internet connectivity is available.
Installing the CHEMM App stores application data on your device. The amount of storage used may change as application updates are installed or additional content is cached for offline use.
The CHEMM App does not require the creation of a user account. Use of the application remains subject to applicable U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) privacy policy, accessibility and website policies and CHEMM Disclaimers and Policies.
Reasonable efforts are made to maintain the availability and accuracy of CHEMM content. However, uninterrupted availability of the application or all features cannot be guaranteed.
By selecting Agree, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this notice and consent to the installation of the CHEMM App, including the automatic download and application of future updates when internet connectivity is available.
