Today, Sir David Bell’s independent review into antisemitism in schools and colleges has been published, making 27 recommendations.

Campaign Against Antisemitism made a submission to the review, with our own recommendations.

Many of our recommendations have been adopted, in full or part, by Sir David, or mirrored in this proposals, which the Government is set to accept in full.

Sir David’s key findings include:

One in five young people have witnessed or experienced antisemitism.

Almost three in five Jewish youngsters have done so, as have many teachers.

This includes stereotypes, jokes and derogatory comments in social spaces, classrooms and online.

Pupils and students are the most common perpetrators.

Children don’t bother reporting incidents because they don’t believe they will be addressed.

Teachers report high levels of workplace antisemitism and inadequate organisational responses.

This problem has been growing for a decade, reaching high levels since October 2023.

Teachers and administrators think they know more about antisemitism and how to tackle it than they actually do.

There is no consistent system-wide reference point for identifying and responding to antisemitism, and while awareness of the International (IHRA) Definition of Antisemitism is high, few use it in practice

Antisemitism is not always recognised as a form of harm that may raise safeguarding concerns, and victims often don’t get the support they need

Pupils at Jewish schools often experience or fear antisemitic abuse while travelling, leading some to conceal visible signs of their Jewish identity.

School leaders in Jewish schools carry significant additional safeguarding and security responsibilities, creating substantial workload, wellbeing and workforce pressures.

A spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “This significant report showcases what Jewish children are going through in this country. English schools have utterly failed in their duty of care to protect their Jewish pupils and educate their peers not to hate Jews, while Jewish schools are burdened with security responsibilities on top of education. The Jewish community already knows all this, but it’s vital that the country starts to understand the gravity of what is happening. It’s not just the victims who matter but the perpetrators, who are the future citizens and leaders of this country – and their teachers.

“No doubt politicians will emerge to wishfully insist – contrary to the evidence – that ‘there is no place for antisemitism in our schools’. But of course there is – there is lots of it. David Bell has shown that. The discussion must now turn to why. Pupils are being radicalised online, at home and even in the classroom, often with the blessing of callous, agenda-driven teachers’ unions obsessed with demonising the Jewish state and anyone who dares identify with it, as naturally most Jews do.

“Sir David’s recommendations are a first step to tackle this abominable development in British education, and we welcome the adoption or mirroring of many recommendations that we made to the review. The Government, relevant bodies and schools must urgently move on to implementation – before it’s too late.”

If you are a policymaker and would like to discuss Sir David’s review or our recommendations, please e-mail policy@antisemitism.org.

EHRC starts to take action on Greens after Campaign Against Antisemitism referral

On 7th October, Campaign Against Antisemitism referred the Green Party to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in the wake of its passage of a motion declaring that “Zionism is racism”, which occurred against a backdrop of concerns regarding the Green Party’s relationship with Jews.

Our referral has been covered by national media, including a mention by GB News presenter Camilla Tominey.

The EHRC has now written to the Green Party following our referral.

“We have written to the Green Party of England and Wales about its recently adopted ‘Zionism is racism’ motion to ask for more information and assess its practical implications and potential impact,” the EHRC said.

“We have received complaints alleging unlawful activity under the Equality Act 2010, including concerns that Jewish people could face discrimination because of their beliefs following the adoption of the motion. As with every complaint we receive, we will assess the information provided carefully and following that consideration take action where appropriate”. You can read more here.

The vile motion has been widely condemned across the political spectrum, including by Prime Minister Andy Burnham. We welcome his recognition that “it is wrong, it is antisemitic.”

Former Green Party Leader Caroline Lucas has faced backlash from activists within the Party over her disagreement with the motion – you can read more about it here.

The national Labour Party has also issued an ultimatum to Green Party councillors to disown the “Zionism is racism” policy, or risk Labour councillors withdrawing from power-sharing arrangements. You can read more here.

In contrast, the Liberal Democrats have condemned the motion but declined to issue nationwide instructions to their councillors, insisting that it a matter for “local councillors on the ground”.

Stamping out antisemitism does not begin and end with the Green Party’s policy on Zionism though. It is rearing its head in multiple political parties, and it is incumbent upon politicians of all stripes to consider how their parties might be contributing to the crisis of Jew-hatred in our country, or what more they could be doing to confront political antisemitism.

Wife of Britain’s National Security Adviser appears to pledge support for Palestine Action

Sarah Helm, journalist and wife of Jonathan Powell, Britain’s National Security Adviser, posted on X last week in response to the reports that author Sally Rooney’s books would no longer be sold in the UK due to her alleged support for Palestine Action.

Ms Helm’s post read: “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action. Sounds like Adam [Boulton] would have all our books swept off the shelves in a jiffy.” Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK, and expressing support for a proscribed group is a terrorism offence.

The police have announced that her post did not reach the criminal threshold and therefore that no further action will be taken, with a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service reportedly saying: “It was determined that it did not meet the criminal threshold. No further action will be taken.”

In addition, Campaign Against Antisemitism can reveal a number of social media posts expressing incendiary rhetoric from Ms Helm going back years, including on ‘intifada’, Hamas, terrorists, Jeremy Corbyn’s antisemitism scandal, and Jewish history in the Middle East. You can read more here.

So it’s illegal to express support for a proscribed terrorist organisation if you’re an ordinary person, but if you allegedly do it when you’re the wife of the national security advisor, that’s okay? Aren’t we supposed to be a country where everyone is equal under the law?

With decisions like this, it’s no wonder that 89% of British Jews think the authorities are not doing enough to tackle political extremism. Police inaction in this high-profile case beggars belief. It’s another nail in the coffin of British justice.

Sally Rooney punished over support for Palestine Action

Irish writer Sally Rooney has announced that she is no longer able to receive UK royalties from her book sales, due to her alleged public support for Palestine Action, and that she will therefore withdraw her books from circulation in the UK.

Sally Rooney is finding out that she can’t have her cake and eat it. We previously reported her to Counter Terrorism Policing after she is understood to have claimed she would use the proceeds from the BBC adaptations of her work to fund Palestine Action, a proscribed terrorist organization in the UK, and that if support for the group ‘makes me a “supporter of terror” under UK law, so be it’. Yes, it does.

Now she is reaping the consequences of her actions. A lot of activists feel invincible because nothing has been done about their radicalism for three years. That has to stop.

Stephen Silverman, Campaign Against Antisemitism’s Director of Investigations and Enforcement, spoke to GB News about Sally Rooney’s announcement:

“Much of this aggression has been aimed at British Jewish communities”

MI5 Director General Sir Ken McCallum has delivered the organisation’s Annual Threat Update, in which he highlighted the impact of foreign state threats on the safety of the British Jewish community.

Addressing the activities of Iran-linked organisations in the UK, Sir Ken said that “much of this aggression has been aimed at British Jewish communities, with whom I want to express solidarity”. You can read more here.

This will not be news to British Jews. Almost all British Jews (96%) consider Islamists to be a serious threat, according to our representative polling, and 91% do not think that the authorities are doing enough to tackle religious extremism. Recognition of the outsized threat posed to British Jews is a vital first step. But to change these perceptions the Government must now act decisively against both homegrown and imported extremism. Until it does, British Jews will continue to bear the brunt.

In parallel, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has announced the opening of a public inquiry into the deaths of Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby, who were killed in the October 2025 Heaton Park synagogue terror attack in Manchester. You can read more here. Once the terms of reference for the inquiry are finalised, Campaign Against Antisemitism intends to contribute to the inquiry.

Clearly, our European peers are more cognisant of the threat posed to Jewish communities. Members of the European Parliament have voted to put individuals and groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood on the European Union’s terror watchlist. You can read more here.

Our polling shows 85% of British Jews think that the British Government should proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group. Once again, Britain has lost the opportunity to lead, but it can still follow and do the right thing. The Home Office should stop dithering and follow the lead of allies across the world in confronting terror groups and their sources.

As homegrown extremism continues to have a devastating impact on British Jewry, it is refreshing to hear from an individual who was able to move away from this indoctrination.

In this week’s episode of Podcast Against Antisemitism, Elie interviewed Taryn Thomas, a former pro-Palestine activist and protester. After taking part in numerous demonstrations, she began educating herself on the horrors of Hamas’ 7th October terrorist atrocities. She soon became aware of the antisemitic nature permeating many of the protests, leading her to abandon the movement.

You can listen to the interview wherever you get your podcasts, or watch by clicking here.

Macklemore and other artists are spitting in the face of Britain’s Jewish community

Macklemore’s mask is coming off. After leading the walkout of Ed Sheeran’s support on his tour, Macklemore announced a “Free Palestine” concert at Wembley Arena later this month. It has now emerged that proceeds from the show will go to a group which seemed to justify the 7th October Hamas attacks on Israel.

Campaign Against Antisemitism previously raised concerns about this organisation, known as the Palestinian Youth Movement. Earlier this year, the organisation hosted a summer camp where – as footage appeared to show – children were encouraged to chant “We will crush Zionism” and “Young people, rise up, our revolution is an Arab revolution.”

The Telegraph also reports that the group posted on X, “When people are occupied, resistance is justified” after the events of 7th October 2023.

After we wrote to them, the host of the camp said they were investigating. We have also written to the venue for the concert and its organisers.

Meanwhile, Fontaines D.C., a band with a history of espousing anti-Israel rhetoric and whose guitarist declared “F*** Zionism” at an awards show, will be allowed to perform over two days next July at Heaton Park – just minutes down the road from the Yom Kippur attack on Heaton Park that left two worshippers dead.

One of those days falls on the Jewish Sabbath, when worshippers leaving that same synagogue could walk straight into crowds cheering this band.

Elsewhere in what is generously termed the arts, Matthew Collings recently hosted a panel at hARTslane Gallery on the opening night of his week-long “Drawings Against Genocide” exhibit.

During the event, speakers appeared to express antisemitic views and support for proscribed group Palestine Action. You can read more here.

Given Mr Collings’ history of recycling grotesque antisemitic tropes in his artwork, it is entirely unsurprising that a panel discussion on his work would play host to such rhetoric.

At a time when Jewish communities in London are facing unprecedented levels of violence, it is deeply concerning that he was given a platform to showcase his work and seemingly disseminate hateful ideology in a building owned by Lewisham Council. We wrote to Lewisham Council ahead of the exhibit, and urge it to ensure it upholds its responsibility to take its own commitments to combating antisemitism seriously.

As antisemitic acts grow bolder, Campaign Against Antisemitism is taking action against the police

This past week, several incidents have occurred which are a sobering reminder of the antisemitism faced by Jews in Britain today.

A nine-year-old boy has reportedly been withdrawn from his school by his parents over its handling of an alleged conversation about the 7th October Hamas attacks on Israel between the boy and his teacher. According to the father, his son spoke to his teacher about a previous family discussion on Hamas’ targeting of Israelis at the Nova festival, to which the teacher replied “actually it’s the opposite”. Prior to this conversation, the boy had allegedly been subjected to abuse at the school. You can read more here.

A woman yelled “Dirty Zionists!” in the middle of Golders Green station. She then asked passersby: “Do you support genocide? Do you support the killing of babies as well?” Golders Green is home to a large sector of Britain’s Jewish community.

We obtained footage which appears to show a Thameslink supervisor downplaying the atrocities which Hamas carried out in Israel on 7th October 2023. You can read more here.

In a video circulating online, a migrant found not guilty after vandalising the statue of Sir Winston Churchill appears to hold a sign reading “British courts deserve contempt” while encouraging viewers “to globalise the intifada”. You can read more here.

Six Jewish women were allegedly violently assaulted in Stamford Hill. A man has been arrested. You can watch some of the horrific footage here.

Palestine House has erected a tasteless statue of Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five consecutive life sentences in prison for the murder of four Israelis and a Greek monk, and for his membership of the paramilitary Tanzim group. This grotesque decision sends the message that those who have orchestrated the murder of Jews should be honoured, instead of abhorred.

Also this week, there was yet more evidence that the pro-Palestine mob hates Britain. At a careers fair at Queens University, Belfast, activists appear to have approached an RAF stall, which they then covered with a Palestinian Authority flag, stating that they had thereby “reclaimed it for Palestine”. You can read more here.

In another case, Independent councillor Mark Howell wore a Palestine football shirt to a recent Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council meeting. The meeting agenda didn’t mention the Middle East, but did include discussions about lease agreements and SEND reform. The Daily Mail reported that Cllr Howell “sat immediately in front of two Jewish councillors as they debated lease agreements.”

Amid a wave of antisemitism, Campaign Against Antisemitism is taking action: We are proud to provide and fund legal representation to enable Mark Birbeck, founder of Our Fight UK, to challenge the lawfulness of his arrest by the Metropolitan Police five days after he showed solidarity with British Jews following the Heaton Park synagogue terror attack. You can listen to our Director of Investigations and Enforcement explain more here.

We will always stand up for our allies when they need us, just as they stand with us.

With antisemitism permeating all aspects of British society, we are more resolved than ever to raise awareness and educate across the country.

That’s why last week, Elie spent the day with our friends at Leeds Leads Against Antisemitism educating people about racism against Jews.

Some were receptive. Others less so. Watch here.

UN panel cheated in order to accuse Israel of ‘genocide’

A member of the UN inquiry that accused Israel of genocide has admitted that the bar it set for that verdict was “not a high standard” of proof from which to draw such conclusions.

Speaking at a debate with a US military law expert at a synagogue in Melbourne, Australia, jurist Chris Sidoti said that proving genocidal intent is “a very, very high test” – one “higher than the criminal standard of beyond reasonable doubt”. But the UN panel only used a standard of “reasonable grounds”, he explained. You can read more here.

In other words, the panel levelled the gravest charge in international law against the Jewish state only because it applied a far lower standard of evidence than what was actually required – the UN cheated.

His remarks appear to contradict claims by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Navi Pillay, the chair of the UN panel, who reportedly asserted that the panel “essentially worked like a court” and that “every fact was verified by us”. That now appears to be nonsense.

Branding the world’s only Jewish state as ‘genocidal’ on such flimsy grounds is more than a gross oversight. It has had – and continues to have – dangerous consequences for the safety of Jews across the world. Its motivation – well, that has always been clear enough.

The UN panel cheated in order to defame the Jewish state, and the Nobel Committee has rewarded them.

We have been down this road before.

We referred the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn to the EHRC, even as others insisted that neither he nor the party he was leading were antisemitic. We disagreed, we acted and we got results.

We have called on the EHRC to investigate, and that call has been answered. This may be the beginning of a long road, but we have been down it before, and nobody is more experienced or, with your support, better equipped than Campaign Against Antisemitism to traverse it.

Sarah Helm, the wife of National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell, has been at the centre of a scandal as Campaign Against Antisemitism has led media and public outrage at a post that she published appearing to express support for Palestine Action, a proscribed terrorist organisation.

In the post, published on 15th October, Ms Helm wrote: “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action. Sounds like Adam would have all our books swept off the shelves in a jiffy.”

Given the public interest in the case and media scrutiny, the police quickly announced that her post did not reach the criminal threshold and therefore that no further action would be taken, with a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service saying: “It was determined that it did not meet the criminal threshold. No further action will be taken.”

However, Campaign Against Antisemitism can reveal further incendiary rhetoric from Ms Helm going back years, including on ‘intifada‘, Hamas, terrorists, Jeremy Corbyn’s antisemitism scandal, Jewish history in the Middle East, and more.

15.10.26: “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action. Sounds like Adam would have all our books swept off the shelves in a jiffy.”

Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist organisation.

16:10:26: “Thank goodness for Francesca Albanese. As she says In Gaza there is (and was the previous times they bombed it) ‘nowhere to go’. It’s got walls and electrified fences all around. Israel bombed refugees inside a prison. Geddit?!”

Francesca Albanese is a disgraced UN Special Rapporteur who has been banned from the United States and several European countries have called for her removal. You can read more about her here and here.

13.10.26: “There are many other ways to describe it. Mass slaughter on horrific scale of women children old & young unjustly imprisoned by Israel in a camp called gaza for 77 yrs from which no escape to original homes nearby when the bombs fell.. but many find it simpler to call it genocide.”

77 years ago, Gaza was seized by Egypt, which held the Strip for almost twenty years until the Six Day War, and for many decades after there was much smoother travel between Gaza and Israel than there was during the Second Intifada. In 2005, Israel removed all soldiers and civilians from Gaza, whose inhabitants then elected Hamas to rule, which it did with an iron fist for almost two decades until the war began in October 2023. So the notion that Israel has “unjustly imprisoned” people there for this entire period is, at best, ahistorical misinformation.

Similar sentiments here.

02.05.26: “For PM ‘globalise the intifada’ is anti-semitic call to attack Jews. No. The Palestinian ‘intifada’ means ‘shaking off’ or ‘uprising’ against illegal Israeli occupation. ‘Globalise the intifada’ is a call for people everywhere to help the Palestinians become free.”

‘Intifadas’ have invariably been violent campaigns of terrorism targeting Jews. The Second Intifada killed over 1,000 Jewish people.

According to our representative polling of the Jewish community, 95% of British Jews consider the phrase ‘Globalise the Intifada’ to be a call for violence against Jewish people.

01.05.26: Yes, BBC, let‘s just “park” that overwhelming important question in the Israel-Palestine car park of questions nobody dares address for fear of being called anti-semitic. Try mentioning, for example, 1948. That’s parked away in a car park of its very own and locked up.

This is one of a number of posts (more here and here) that appear to downplay antisemitism in the UK or insist that, in line with the ‘Livingstone Formulation’, that accusations of antisemitism are used to silence criticism of Israel.

It is demonstrably the case that the antisemitic hate crimes and terrorist violence that British Jews have faced over the past three years have been motivated by support for Palestine and hatred for Israel.

25.04.26: “Why are you, a journalist, even engaging with this all too familiar and bogus and insulting Israeli claim/attempt to justify murdering journalists? It’s simply something they do, always have. Just that now they are murdering far more.”

Parroting debunked claims that Israel has deliberately killed scores of independent journalists.

27.02.26: “Indeed. The gov hoping Gaza will just go away. And when, one might ask, will Starmer/Cooper be visiting the West Bank Jerusalem or at least turning up at the Rafah border post demanding to be allowed in to see the evidence of genocide?”

Accusing Israel of committing genocide.

08.01.26: “Palestine Action members on hunger strike & near to death in Brit prison awaiting trial for c damage during protest over Brit arms to Israel.Starmer/Lammy have nothing to say. Meanwhile Israel bombs little girls family tent in Gaza during ‘ceasefire’ Anything to say on that? No”

This post is certainly sympathetic to Palestine Action prisoners, at the very least.

01.12.25: “He should take a look in UN archives where he’ll find records of the 750 Palestinian villages destroyed by Zionist/Israeli forces in 1948+ UN calculation of compensation owed by Israel to every Palestinian refugee still not granted right of return.”

This post appears to express support for the so-called ‘right of return’, a one-sided proposal that would demographically destroy the Jewish state.

16.10.25: “And it’s important to add that after the 2014 war it was HAMAS that crushed emerging Isis/Salafi groups before they took root in the aftermath then. People inside Gaza today say they fear the Arab gangs -Israeli collaborators often -far more than Hamas trying to crush them.”

This post – in conjunction with the post that it is quote tweeting – appears to be a bizarre attempt to sanitise Hamas. There is another example here.

08.08.25: “Excellent from Zomlot, except it has in fact been going on since the first Jewish settlers arrived from Russia in 1882, promising “to take out” the Arab population ‘bit by bit’.”

Approving the claim from the styled ‘Palestine Ambassador’ that Israel has been waging a 77-year campaign of ethnic cleansing and that is why its military entered Gaza since 2023, but Ms Helm goes even further than the ‘Ambassador’, saying that the ethnic cleansing began ever since Jewish people began returning to their ancient homeland in sizeable numbers, which she alleges that they did in order to remove the Arab population.

26.07.25: “Utterly absurd. I have spent a very long time in Gaza and I would say that at least one in three families I met there had at least one person who supported Hamas in some way or at some time.”

Read in conjunction with the post that it is replying to, this post appears to be criticising the BBC’s belated decision to check whether Gazan interviewees have affiliations to Hamas. This came after the scandal of the BBC airing a documentary narrated by the son of a senior Hamas official whose family received licence fee money for the boy’s appearance.

15.06.24: “Leaders/media near silence about Nazi camps in WW2 was in part due to lack of evidence then BBC on at last receiving reports from Auschwitz in Autumn ‘ 44 said cd not be broadcast as they were so awful “nobody would believe them”. Today everyone believes but still deathly silence https://x.com/TomLondon6/sta/TomLondon6/status/1801365934436716842”

This post appears to associate, if not compare, Israel to the Nazis. If the latter, it is notable, as according to the International Definition of Antisemitism, “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis” is an example of antisemitism.

07.10.2023: “Not for the first time Von Der Leyen is spouting empty dangerous glib tropes on a subject she apparently doesn’t understand.”

This post is in response to the President of European Commission saying, on 7th October 2023, that the EU stands with Israel.

03.08.18: “The fact that Corbyn didn’t yell abuse at a Holocaust survivor definitely makes him antisemitic https://independent.co.uk/voices/antisemitism-labour-party-jeremy-corbyn-jewish-holocaust-survivor-abuse-a8474846.html”

This post was written at the height of the Labour antisemitism scandal during Jeremy Corbyn’s tenure as Leader. The EHRC would later find that the Labour Party had unlawfully victimised and discriminated against Jewish people, following a referral by Campaign Against Antisemitism.

27.04.17: “Calling Marwan Barghouti a terrorist won’t silence him”

This was posted several days into a mass prisoner hunger strike led by Marwan Barghouti. Mr Barghouti was convicted by an Israeli court in 2004 on five counts of murder relating to attacks during the Second Intifada and is serving five life sentences.

A spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “So it’s illegal to express support for a proscribed terrorist organisation if you’re an ordinary person, but if you allegedly do it when you’re the wife of the National Security Advisor, that’s okay? Aren’t we supposed to be a country where everyone is equal under the law? With decisions like this, it’s no wonder that 89% of British Jews think the authorities are not doing enough to tackle political extremism. Police inaction in this high-profile case beggars belief. It’s another nail in the coffin of British justice.

“Our research shows that Sarah Helm has strong opinions on antisemitism and the Jewish state. Her X feed reads like that of a hardened anti-Israel activist. This is shocking from the wife of the National Security Advisor. At a time of the worst antisemitism in living memory, how can British Jews be reassured when these sentiments are so close to the person charged with protecting us all?”

Kamil Mach, nineteen, appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16th October where he pleaded guilty to racially or religiously aggravated harassment in relation to an incident outside a synagogue in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, in May where he performed the Nazi salute.

He was arrested several weeks after the incident, on 22nd May, and charged with a racially or religiously aggravated public order offence.

Mr Mach was released on bail under the conditions that he was not to attend any synagogues in England or return to the road of the synagogue where the offence occurred.

The court heard how Mr Mach committed the offence whilst a religious service was in progress, and that there were children present.

He was issued a £500 baseline fine, based on his weekly earnings, which was uplifted to £750 due to the racial/religious nature of the charge, but reduced back to £500 to reflect the guilty plea. He was also issued a surcharge of £200 and a further £85, making the full penalty amount come to £785.

On 7th October we didn’t just remember, we acted

Campaign Against Antisemitism has referred the Green Party to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in the wake of its passage of a motion declaring that “Zionism is racism”, which has occurred against a backdrop of concerns regarding the Green Party’s relationship with its Jewish members and the wider Jewish community.

We have now concluded that the EHRC must investigate the Green Party on the basis that the Party has discriminated against Jewish members and/or associates, and continues to do so contrary to sections 101(2)(d) and/or 101(3)(d) of the Equality Act 2010.

As we wrote in our letter, “The Green Party has become, and continues to be a party which discriminates against Jewish members and associates either in their capacity as Jews, or as persons who are, or are perceived to be, or are associated with, Zionism and the State of Israel. By this motion, their continued presence in the Party will become untenable.”

Additionally, we are asking any former or current Green Party member who is Jewish or Zionist to contact us so that we may consider whether we can assist them in bringing any actions against the Green Party. They are asked to contact litigation@antisemitism.org confidentially.

We will not stand idly by as extremists hijack a political party and make antisemitism its openly stated policy.

The Green Party must face the consequences of its actions.

Watch Campaign Against Antisemitism’s Chief Executive, Gideon Falter, explain why we have referred the Green Party to the EHRC here. He also wrote an opinion piece in The Sunday Telegraph, where he discussed the widespread antisemitism within the Green Party, and the reasons behind our EHRC referral. You can read the article here.

Our Director of Investigations and Enforcement, Stephen Silverman, also spoke to GB News and Talk TV about Campaign Against Antisemitism’s referral of the Greens to the EHRC.

The Green Party has been condemned by their European colleagues, who said they “unequivocally distance ourselves” from the “Zionism is racism” motion.

Scottish Greens co-Leader Ross Greer MSP claimed that the creation of the world’s only Jewish state “was an act of ethnic cleansing”, while the Deputy Leader of the Welsh Greens has called the motion “idiotic”. So even the various UK Green Parties can’t decide between them whether the Jews are allowed a state or not.

Green Party leader Zack Polanski, who avoided voting on the motion by skipping the conference to campaign in the Holborn and St. Pancras by-election – which he went on to lose – has been barred from entering the state of Israel.

Meanwhile, we have reported the author of the ‘Zionism is Racism’ motion, Lubna Speitan, to the police over separate comments made at an event. She is also reportedly listed in US court filings as a “close friend” of Minh Quang Pham, a British man who was arrested in 2012 over an alleged plot to carry out a suicide bomb attack at Heathrow Airport, reportedly targeting a flight from Israel. You can read more here.

We are consulting with our legal advisors on next steps in relation to Ms Speitan. The Green Party might want to rethink whom it’s relying on to determine its policy.

Disturbingly, Halima Brewer, who was elected onto the Greens’ disciplinary committee at their conference, has posted concerning rhetoric online relating to Hamas and Israelis, according to the Daily Mail. In one post, she reportedly said: “I used to oppose Hamas because I thought their strategy for freeing Palestine was counterproductive. I have dropped that naive view and now think the only thing Palestinians have left is violent resistance against the bigger terrorist – the biggest of all now – Israel.”

How is the Green Party expected to be held accountable for its abominable “Zionism is racism” motion, when individuals spewing hateful rhetoric are able to sit on the Party’s disciplinary committee? This raises serious questions over the ability of the Party to safeguard its members – including Jewish members.

Campaign Against Antisemitism takes full-page Guardian ad to honour victims of 7th October attacks

On 7th October 2023, genocidal, antisemitic Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, where they committed barbaric, twisted acts of terror. They murdered some 1,200 innocent people in cold blood, raping and torturing along the way, and took more than 250 hostage, ranging in age from babies to the elderly.

At Campaign Against Antisemitism, we wanted to do more to honour the victims of that dark day – by ensuring that the world couldn’t look away.

With the support of a generous donor, we took over a page of The Guardian to remember the victims of the attacks and to warn of rising antisemitism in Britain.

That newspaper has firmly stayed in its comfort zone in the aftermath of the Hamas atrocity: quietly, subtly and despicably encouraging anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiment among its readers.

For years, the paper has excused anti-Jewish racism and distorted Jewish concerns to fit an ideological narrative. Indeed, our polling shows that 69% of British Jews view The Guardian unfavourably when it comes to Jewish issues.

Unlike readers of other newspapers, therefore, Guardian readers may not know what really happened on 7th October 2023. Now they do.

Watch this video to hear Elie explain why we’re reading The Guardian.

Campaign Against Antisemitism marks three years since 7th October massacre

Three years on from the brutal 7th October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel, the Jewish world continues to grieve, and experience an unprecedented global rise in antisemitism. Our thoughts are with the families of the murdered and with the survivors who are still living with the trauma.

In this week’s episode of our Podcast Against Antisemitism, Elie interviewed Michael and Lisa Marlowe, the parents of Jake Marlowe, a British-Israeli citizen murdered on 7th October by Hamas terrorists.

Jake was working as unarmed security at the Nova Music Festival that day when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel. In this interview, Michael and Lisa Marlowe describe the moment they found out their son had been murdered, the months and years that followed and their concerns on antisemitism in Britain.

You can watch the episode here, or listen to it on Spotify, Apple or wherever you get your podcasts.

Not everyone approached the day with due sensitivity.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, released a statement commemorating the third anniversary of the attacks, but he was unable to refrain from mentioning “the reprehensible actions of the Israeli Government”.

If the Mayor of London can’t bring himself to remember the over one thousand victims of the 7th October atrocity without criticising the Israeli Government, and cannot talk about antisemitism in his city without referring to Gaza, then he may as well not say anything at all.

Given his tenure has been characterised by inaction and conspicuous absence as the Jewish community has suffered the worst antisemitism in living memory on his watch, for him to say nothing now would be perfectly in character. His statement is worse than nothing.

Elsewhere on that day, Jewish students at the University of Leeds were confronted with ‘Zionism is racism’ graffiti whilst holding a vigil mourning the biggest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust. Days after “Zionism is racism” was passed as an official motion by the Green Party, anti-Israel obsessives now feel emboldened enough to scrawl it across university campuses.

However, at a vigil organised by Stop the Hate to mark three years since the attacks, participants shared their stories with Elie, including non-Jews who told us why they stand as allies.

Campaign Against Antisemitism calls out the real ‘baby-killers’ at students’ grotesque 7th October student march

On the day when Jewish communities worldwide mourned the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, anti-Israel student protestors came out to march.

The protest in London was part of a wider pattern. According to figures released by Israel’s Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, 262 anti-Israel events had reportedly been organised across 37 countries between 1st and 14th October. Staggeringly, it appears that 29% of all upcoming events were due to take place on 7th October itself, and around one-third had been identified as high-risk. You can read more here.

Ahead of the student march, Campaign Against Antisemitism wrote to the Met Police Commissioner about the plans for the 7th October hate march. In response, the force released a statement urging organisers to hold their protest on a different day – which of course they were never going to do. The police could not take action against the march organiser as nobody had identified themselves as the organiser, in breach of the law. Still, they didn’t ban the march.

Then, a day prior to the march, the Met announced that it had imposed conditions on the protest, restricting the procession route and prohibiting face coverings during the event.

This announcement was yet another sorry excuse for inaction. The extent of police action on this was to ask the organisers (whomever they may be, because the police didn’t seem to know) to reconsider marching on 7th October. And in the event that they wouldn’t reconsider (which they didn’t), the police asked that they might march a slightly shortened route.

It was pathetic and an insult to Londoners’ intelligence.

Our Director of Investigations and Enforcement, Stephen Silverman, spoke to GB News and Talk TV about the disappointing police response to the protest.

During the march itself, protestors chanted “The State of Israel has got to go” – the very same thing Hamas terrorists sought three years ago when they tore into Israel. A man also yelled “F***ing baby killers” at a member of our team, who we have now reported to police.

But if these ignorant and racist students insisted on marching in opposition to baby-killers, we were determined to point out who the real baby-killers are. So we drove alongside the hate march with our digivan, displaying images of Kfir, Ariel and Shiri Bibas that read: “Kidnapped on 7th October. Murdered in captivity.”

The police refused to ban the march, so the least we could do was educate those taking part. It didn’t go down well.

Antisemitism on full display at Saturday hate march

Then, this past Saturday, there was yet another hate march in London (distinct from the 7th October hate march).

Naturally, this ‘peaceful’ Palestine hate march erupted in violence. Who would have predicted? Nobody could have guessed that people who support ‘globalising the Intifada’ might be prone to physical aggression.

The Met Police made twenty arrests at the peaceful march that the force didn’t ban but facilitated. These included:

Six arrests for desecration of the Battle of Britain war memorial – because the Palestine First crowd hate Britain and its history.

Two further arrests of people who refused to remove face coverings when asked by police – because nothing says ‘peaceful march’ like face coverings.

Two more for expressions of support for proscribed terrorist group Palestine Action, and there were also placards calling for de-proscription of Hamas, Hizballah and the IRGC – all ‘peace-loving’ Islamist organisations.

One arrest of a woman who performed a Nazi salute – a notoriously ‘peaceful’ gesture.

One arrest for an assault on police officers and another for threats to kill in relation to an incident earlier this month – all extremely ‘peaceful’ conduct – and a series of other arrests.

How many of these arrests will actually lead to charges, prosecutions and convictions? How many other crimes were committed on this march whose perpetrators were not arrested?

How many crimes in London and elsewhere in the country weren’t policed that day because officers had to be redeployed to protect the public from this ‘peaceful’ hate march?

During the march, one protestor held a sign which read “By any means necessary”, and another held a sign with the words “Not all racists are Zionists, but all Zionists are racist” – likely emboldened by the Green Party.

Another was spotted wearing a jacket embellished with a red downwards-facing triangle (watch here). In recent years, the inverted red triangle and its emoji variant have been used by some anti-Israel activists to signal support for proscribed terrorist organisations such as Hamas, inspired by the appearance of the symbol in Hamas propaganda videos to indicate targets for attack.

This is the sort of rhetoric one would expect to see in a history textbook, recounting a darker time in human history. But actually it’s happening right now, on our streets.

Instead of doing something about it, the authorities just shrug, and then have the audacity to talk about the need to fight antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head.

It’s rearing its ugly head right in front of you: this week Abdullah Albadri, 34, was found guilty by a majority verdict of preparation of terrorist acts and possession of two bladed articles at the Old Bailey, after trying to scale the eight-foot-high security fence outside the Israeli embassy. He has been sentenced to life in prison. You can read more here.

Latest hate crime stats show why Met Commissioner has to go

Jews are almost nine times more likely to be targets of hate crimes than any other faith group, our analysis of the new Home Office stats shows. You can read the full analysis here.

Antisemites, emboldened by the Hamas terrorist atrocity three years ago, are not only not letting up in their hatred but are doubling down. That’s because there is no real deterrent. So really these figures are most damning for the criminal justice system, which has utterly failed to defend British Jews.

Even as conflict in the Middle East is easing off, antisemitism in the UK is rising, yet there have been essentially no changes in policing policy over the past three years and nobody has been held to account for this monumental failure.

This time last year, Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, said it was “utterly unacceptable that Jewish communities in London should live in fear”. But of course it has been entirely acceptable, as this has been the state of affairs for the last three years under his watch.

The Jewish community has understandably lost confidence in Sir Mark – the most senior officer in the land – and he needs to go. He must finally be replaced by someone who actually grasps the scale and urgency of the crisis.

Campaign Against Antisemitism reveals appalling social media record of NHS practitioners

We recently published a groundbreaking documentary on antisemitism in the healthcare sector, titled ‘Malignant: Antisemitism in the NHS’. You can watch the full documentary here.

The documentary continues to receive extensive coverage in major national and international media outlets.

This weekend, we released more examples of extremism from medical practitioners, this time working exclusively with the Daily Mail.

These include:

In response to a post on 7th October 2023 claiming “Palestinians have a right to resist their occupation – we have a right to support them. It’s that simple”, a midwife wrote: “Hell yeah!!!”

An occupational therapist reposted an image by a former MEP who said that the US “votes for the Genocide to continue” and that it supports the “Genocidal Zionist Settler Colonial Project in Palestine”, accompanied by an image of a US delegate with devil horns and blood around her mouth performing a Nazi salute.

An emergency medicine and family medicine GP gave a speech in which he said:: “Zionists control the media. Zionists control the world…We are the Nakba survivor. Is that similar to the Holocaust survivor? Yes…And what Israel is doing in Gaza is not ethnic cleansing. It’s extermination!”

You can read all about the incidents here.

These examples – and those that we shared with The Telegraph recently – are almost all in addition to the practitioners referenced in the documentary, underscoring that this is not merely a case of a few bad apples. The findings demonstrate how widespread this problem is and how urgent change is needed.

It is past time for regulators to get a grip and finally start to tackle hate in healthcare.

Lawsuit against Met after arrest of man for standing with British Jews

Campaign Against Antisemitism is providing litigation funding to enable Mark Birbeck, the founder of Our Fight UK, to challenge the lawfulness of his arrest five days after the Heaton Park synagogue terror attack.

Mr Birbeck was arrested on suspicion of committing a Terrorism Act offence, a public order offence and a breach of the peace. Extensive footage shows Mr Birbeck calmly debating with pro-Palestine supporters while holding a sign that read, “We stand with Britain’s Jews,” immediately before his arrest. We fully support this action and Mr Birbeck’s determination to secure an acknowledgment from the police that their conduct was unlawful.

For years, Campaign Against Antisemitism has provided free legal representation and litigation funding to people affected by antisemitism or victimised for standing with British Jews. Our litigation funding provides access to specialist lawyers and indemnifies claimants against adverse costs.

Mr Birbeck said: “I wanted to publicly display a simple message of solidarity with British Jews just a week after two of their community were killed outside a Manchester synagogue. I was arrested, and the charges brought against me that day are outrageous and baseless. I am grateful to Campaign Against Antisemitism for taking on my case, and ensuring that the police are held accountable. Nobody should be left with a terror arrest on their record for taking such a stand”.

We have appointed Derek Spitz KC of One Essex Court, and Beth Grossman of Doughty Street Chambers, of counsel, instructed by Asserson solicitors.

Mr Birbeck’s case is yet another galling example of two-tier policing in Britain. While Palestine activists repeatedly break our laws with impunity, a member of the public is seemingly unable to peacefully express support for British Jews without being arrested on suspicion of terrorism – a serious offence.

This is a sobering reflection of the state of our justice system, and that is why Campaign Against Antisemitism has intervened to see that the police answer for their conduct in court. Those who stand with British Jews will always have our support, and we will not stand by while the law is turned on them instead of on those who threaten our community.

Witness Appeal

Campaign Against Antisemitism has been made aware of a violent assault that is believed to have taken place in Queen Square, Bloomsbury last week.

We understand that a man was walking through the square when he spotted two men stencilling political messaging onto the floor. After confronting the men about a slogan which apparently referred to “genocidal Israel”, he was allegedly subjected to a brutal assault.

The victim believes he has sustained a cracked rib, but this is yet to be confirmed by a medical assessment.

The men were described by the victim as young, of university age and white. One of the men was of slim build with sandy hair, and the other was described as being 6ft tall and of large build.

If anyone has any information, please contact investigations@antisemitism.org or contact the Met Police quoting call reference number: 8535/06OCT26

Three years on from 7th October, the hatred has not let up. But neither have we.

The Green Party declares it racist for Jews to want a state of their own – so we have referred the Green Party to the EHRC.

The Home Office shows that hate crimes against Jews have risen ten percent since last year – which is why we are bringing private prosecutions when the criminal justice fails in its duty.

A man holding a sign saying that he stands with British Jews is arrested – so we are helping him sue the police.

Antisemitism in the NHS has metastasised – so we have exposed the hate in healthcare through our documentary and exclusive stories in three of the largest newspapers in the country.

On 7th October, we didn’t just remember, we acted. And we will keep on acting.

Recently, we published our documentary titled ‘Malignant: Antisemitism in the NHS’. You can watch it here. In the wake of the film’s release, we are providing more information about the problem of anti-Jewish racism in the health sector.

Today, we are providing further examples of shocking rhetoric from select registered medical professionals, underscoring that this is not merely a case of a few bad apples.

He often refers to Hamas as “the Resistance” and uses an inverted red triangle.
An analysis by Campaign Against Antisemitism of new Home Office statistics shows that Jews are almost nine times likelier to be targets of hate crimes than any other faith group.

Police forces across the country record hate crimes against Jews as religious hate crimes, and these records show that in the year 2025/26, 3,162 hate crimes were committed against Jews, making Jews the target in 27% – almost one in three – of the total number of religious hate crimes, despite being only half a percent of the national population.

The number of hate crimes targeting Jews rose ten percent compared to last year (although last year’s figures omitted data from the Metropolitan Police Service, making year on year comparisons more difficult).

These figures mean that there is an average of just under nine hate crimes directed at Jews every single day in England and Wales. Hate crimes against Jews are also still widely believed to be under-reported, and also do not reflect the extent of antisemitic material and abuse on social media.

However, when one accounts for the miniscule size of the Jewish population, it emerges that Jews are statistically almost nine times more likely to be the targets of hate crimes than any other religious group, with some 1,170 hate crimes per 100,000 of the Jewish population in 2024/25.

A spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “Antisemites, emboldened by the Hamas terrorist atrocity three years ago, are not only not letting up in their hatred but are doubling down. The Jewish community has understandably lost confidence in the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police – the most senior officer in the land – and he needs to go. He must finally be replaced by someone who actually grasps the scale and urgency of the crisis.”

We are proud to fund and provide legal representation for Mark Birbeck’s claim against the Metropolitan Police, issued today in the High Court in London.

Campaign Against Antisemitism is providing litigation funding to enable Mr Birbeck, the founder of Our Fight UK, to challenge the lawfulness of his arrest five days after the Heaton Park synagogue terror attack.

Mr Birbeck was arrested on suspicion of committing a Terrorism Act offence, a public order offence, and a breach of the peace.

Extensive footage shows Mr Birbeck calmly debating with pro-Palestine supporters while holding a sign that read “We stand with Britain’s Jews” immediately before his arrest.

Campaign Against Antisemitism’s Director of Investigations and Enforcement, Stephen Silverman, said: “Mr Birbeck’s case is yet another galling example of two-tier policing in Britain. While Palestine activists repeatedly break our laws with impunity, a member of the public is seemingly unable to peacefully express support for British Jews without being arrested on suspicion of terrorism – a serious offence. This is a sobering reflection of the state of our justice system, and that is why Campaign Against Antisemitism has intervened to see that the police answer for their conduct in court”.

Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) has referred the Green Party to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in the wake of its passage of a motion declaring that “Zionism is racism”, which has occurred against a backdrop of concerns regarding the Green Party’s relationship with its Jewish members and the wider Jewish community.

CAA was the originating complainant instigating the EHRC’s landmark investigation into antisemitism within the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn, which was subsequently supported by Jewish groups within Labour. The EHRC found that the Labour Party had unlawfully victimised and discriminated against Jews. Following the EHRC’s concluding report, the Labour Party was issued with a mandatory action plan and forced to make reforms.

We have now concluded that the EHRC must investigate the Green Party on the basis that the Party has discriminated against Jewish members and/or associates, and continues to do so contrary to sections 101(2)(d) and/or 101(3)(d) of the Equality Act 2010.

Last week, prior to the passage of the “Zionism is racism” motion, we wrote to the Green Party requesting clarification on the impact and effect of the resolution. We received no response. We have now written again to the Green Party – on 7th October 2026 – asking them how, precisely, the motion is going to be implemented, and you can find the letter here.

You can read the referral letter to the EHRC, also of 7th October 2026, here.

In our correspondence with the EHRC, we drew the Commission’s attention to the fact that the motion “calls for the end of a Jewish homeland,” and that it “defines support for a Jewish homeland in any form as racist.” The motion defines Zionism as a “racist and settler-colonial…ideology”, which is not a definition most Jews or those sympathetic to Israel or who otherwise describe themselves as Zionists, would recognise or accept. It also effectively states that the State of Israel should not exist, which we consider is aimed to foreclose or render vulnerable to sanction “any form of sympathy or support for the state of Israel, or the idea of a Jewish homeland.”

Whereas the Labour Party did not adopt explicitly antisemitic policy, the Green Party has done so. This means that our referral of the Labour Party to the EHRC required that the EHRC investigate the details of antisemitic discrimination within Labour, but we anticipate that the investigation into the Green Party will have a sharper focus and be more narrowly tailored to the motion itself and its implementation. It will potentially be much more straightforward for the EHRC. The EHRC must now consider whether to open a statutory investigation under section 20 under the Equality Act 2006.

Additionally, we are asking any former or current Green Party member who is Jewish or Zionist to contact us so that we may consider whether we can assist them in bringing any actions against the Green Party. They are asked to contact litigation@antisemitism.org confidentially.

We can also confirm that we have reported the author of the motion, Lubna Speitan, to the Metropolitan Police Service on a separate matter. You can find more information and footage here, and the police reference number for the complaint is TV3-7833-26-15001-IR. It has also been reported that Ms Speitan sought to act as a character witness for a convicted terrorist and Al-Qaeda supporter who plotted to carry out a suicide bomb attack at Heathrow Airport – with some reporting suggesting that it was specifically a flight from Israel that was targeted.

The motion passed with 1,022 votes in favour, and 813 against. It was due to be debated at the Party’s Spring Conference earlier this year, but the debate was scuppered for procedural reasons.

Three of the four proposed amendments to the motion were rejected, including an amendment to protect Jewish members who attend self-declared ‘Zionist’ organisations like synagogues and Jewish community centres. This result tallied with a vote in a pre-conference workshop, audio of which CAA investigators obtained and shared exclusively with The Times.

CAA has appointed Derek Spitz KC of One Essex Court, and Beth Grossman of Doughty Street Chambers, of counsel, instructed by Asserson solicitors.

Gideon Falter, Chief Executive of Campaign Against Antisemitism, said: “On 7th October, we did not just remember, we acted. We have referred the Green Party to the EHRC, just as we referred Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party. The EHRC’s investigation into the Labour Party resulted in a landmark decision which made clear that political parties can be held accountable if they discriminate against Jews. We believe that is what is happening now in the Green Party.

“The Green Party’s decision to adopt its ‘Zionism is racism’ motion is racist and unlawful because it discriminates against Jews. Whether the Party believes itself to be above the law, or – by staggering incompetence – has not bothered to check the legal position, we will ensure that it faces the consequences of its actions.

“The Green Party has become and continues to be a party which discriminates against Jewish members and associates either in their capacity as Jews, or as persons who are, or are perceived to be, associated with Zionism and the State of Israel.

“We are aware of various Jewish and Zionist members of the Green Party who now find their continued presence in the Party untenable, as well as many who have left the Party, and we are asking anybody in such a position to contact us confidentially so that we may examine further action against the Green Party.

“We will not stand idly by as extremists hijack a political party and make antisemitism its openly stated policy.”

Campaign Against Antisemitism advocates for zero tolerance of antisemitism in public life. To that end, we monitor all political parties and strive to ensure that any cases of concern are properly addressed.

Green Party passes landmark ‘Zionism is racism’ motion

This weekend, the Green Party voted that Jews are racists unless they explicitly adopt an extremist purity test set out by the Party. Under that test, Jews belonging to pretty much any synagogue in the UK would fail.

The motion passed with 1,022 votes in favour, and 813 against. It was due to be debated at the Party’s Spring Conference earlier this year, but the debate was scuppered for procedural reasons.

The Green Party Conference’s intentions could scarcely have been clearer. They have adopted the Soviet doctrine that Zionism is racism, meaning that Green Party policy is that all peoples of the world have right to self-determination except for Jews.

Far from being anti-racist, that policy is racism in its clearest form. According to our polling, only 6% of British Jews do not identify as Zionists, and 89% consider anti-Zionism a form of antisemitism.

Three of the four proposed amendments to the motion were rejected, including an amendment to protect Jewish members who attend self-declared ‘Zionist’ organisations like synagogues and Jewish community centres. This result tallied with a vote in a pre-conference workshop, audio of which our investigators obtained and shared exclusively with The Times. You can read more here.

Campaign Against Antisemitism has led the media response to the passage of the disgraceful motion. Our Director of Investigations and Enforcement, Stephen Silverman, has spoken to Sky News, LBC News, Good Morning Britain and Talk TV about the implications of this decision for the Jewish community, and for UK politics.

The motion has also sparked controversy within the Party.

Ahead of the debate, former Party leader Caroline Lucas warned that approving the motion “could be seen as a sign that Jewish people aren’t welcome in the party”. Another former Green Party Leader, Adrian Ramsay, also confirmed he would vote against the motion, calling it “not needed” and “not helpful”, and his former co-Leader, Carla Denyer, stated that she “cannot support” the motion in its current form, as it “risks alienating a significant proportion of Jewish people”.

Astoundingly, whereas three past leaders of the Green Party stepped forward to oppose this motion, the current Leader of the Green Party, Zack Polanski, showed no leadership at all, skipping the vote entirely.

On the advice of our legal team we wrote to the Green Party last week, prior to the adoption of this motion. You can read our letter to Green Party Chair Jon Nott here. We have also asked any Zionist members of the Green Party to contact us.

As the originating complainant in the EHRC’s investigation that found unlawful discrimination against Jews in Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party, we have proven before that we will not stand by and let political parties bring antisemitism into the mainstream.

Campaign Against Antisemitism reveals how GMC is proud to sweep antisemitism complaints under the carpet

Campaign Against Antisemitism recently published a groundbreaking documentary on antisemitism in the healthcare sector, titled “Malignant: Antisemitism in the NHS”. You can watch the full documentary here.

The documentary continues to receive extensive coverage in major national and international media outlets.

We worked exclusively with The Times to reveal the appallingly low rates of action by the General Medical Council (GMC) on antisemitism allegations. You can read more here.

In our documentary, we revealed claims by senior GMC official Tista Chakravarty-Gannon that the body has received many more complaints relating to antisemitism than to other forms of hate, but that it is closing them down quickly. We submitted a Freedom of Information request to the GMC, the results of which verified her claims, with the GMC taking action in only 1% of antisemitism cases. You can read our analysis here.

These figures demonstrate just how abjectly the GMC has failed in its regulatory duty, but they are not alone. Heads must roll across regulatory bodies over this deepening scandal.

In addition, we are releasing more examples of extremism from medical practitioners. As part of our investigation into antisemitism in the healthcare sector, we shared examples of shocking rhetoric from select registered medical professionals exclusively with The Telegraph.

These include:

A General Rheumatologist reportedly posted on X: “The Irony of Jews using gas to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians”.

A consultant ophthalmologist appeared to post an image on Facebook showing a man holding a poster reading “On Oct 7th Israel killed its own people & covered it up to justify genocide”.

A consultant cardiologist reportedly commented on a LinkedIn post: “I am sick to the back teeth of these bloody Z!0 lobby groups taking control of our society and asserting their sick morals onto our psyche”.

You can read about the incidents here.

These examples are all in addition to the practitioners referenced in the documentary, underscoring that this is not merely a case of a few bad apples. The findings demonstrate how widespread this problem is and how urgent change is needed.

We are proud to have worked with two of the most prestigious newspapers in the country to raise awareness of these issues in the wake of our documentary. There are more stories to come. Hate in healthcare is spiralling out of control, and employers and regulators are asleep at the wheel.

Activists hijack 90th anniversary of Battle of Cable Street

Yesterday, Unite the Union held what it said would be a commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street — when, in 1936, thousands of Jews and their allies stood together to stop the British Union of Fascists from marching through the area.

Ahead of the event at the weekend, we wrote to Unite about the place of Jews at their commemorative event. We received no reply. Unite had previously excluded the Jewish community from a page on its website advertising the event and then acknowledged its error, but the union seemed to take no interest in extremists’ plans to exclude Jews from the event, exemplified by a third-party WhatsApp group announcement calling on activists to join the march in protest against the presence of “Zionist groups”.

It increasingly felt like the occasion was going to be an event commemorating not the Jews and allies but those they fought against.

Furthemore, police told a group of Jewish descendants of those who participated in the Battle of Cable Street who intended to commemorate the event to stay away from Unite’s march.

We published footage from the event here.

Instead of commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street, those marching hijacked it. In 1936 the British Union of Fascists sought to drive Jews from the streets, and in 2026 at the Unite the Union march attendees shouted “Zionist scum off our streets”. Like back then, the police facilitated the march of these vile bigots rather than taking action.

Ninety years ago, brave Londoners recognised anti-Jewish racism and stood with their Jewish neighbours against it. Ninety years ago, they did not pass. This weekend, despite the efforts of a valiant few, they did.

A few days before the march, Elie travelled to the Cable Street Mural in East London, where he asked members of the public what they knew about the event. You can watch the video here.

Student protest plans for 7th October show how radicalised campuses have become

Campaign Against Antisemitism has confirmed that student-led societies at fourteen British universities have raised money for Zayir UK, an unregistered fundraising vehicle with alleged links to proscribed group Hizballah.

Campaign Against Antisemitism was previously alerted by a student at Royal Holloway that the Friends of Palestine Society — a society affiliated with the University Students’ Union — had fundraised for Zayir UK. We subsequently compiled evidence showing further fundraising by groups at the Universities of Hertfordshire, Kent, Manchester, Sheffield, Surrey and Westminster, as well as Imperial College London and Queen Mary, Aston University and Kingston University. The Charity Commission has announced that it has issued guidance to King’s College London’s Students’ Union on the same issue.
The Commission must now take action regarding student groups on the other campuses as well. Counter Terrorism Policing must also investigate.

This is just one example of how radicalisation is becoming embedded on British campuses. At the UCL graduation ceremony, a student held up a sign on-stage which read “UCL funds genocide”. The room cheered. Even the Vice Provost clapped – but clearly he doesn’t feel strongly enough to resign from the institution he leads and apparently believes is funding a crime against humanity.
Campaign Against Antisemitism’s Stephen Silverman spoke to Julia Hartley-Brewer on Talk TV about rising antisemitism at universities.

This radicalisation is coming to a head this Wednesday, with student-led pro-Palestine hate marches planned for 7th October, the anniversary of the Hamas massacre.

Organisers have announced their intention to march between various London universities, including King’s College London, University College London, SOAS and the London School of Economics.

We are taking action.

Campaign Against Antisemitism has written to the Met Police Commissioner and the relevant universities and we are also writing to the Charity Commission regarding three of the student organisations involved, which are affiliated to students’ unions that are registered charities.

Organising a march on the anniversary of the biggest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust is an outrageous provocation. It is impossible not to remember how Palestine activists demonstrated on the day of the attack back in 2023 before Israel had even responded. That’s because the motivation of these hate marches has always had less to do with solidarity with Gaza than with hatred for the world’s only Jewish state.

Almost 60% of Jews would not feel comfortable disclosing their Jewish identity at university, according to our representative polling. This event will do nothing to alleviate those concerns.

Amid the torrent of hate, the Jewish community will be coming together on 7th October to honour the victims of that terrible day. The Board of Deputies of British Jews will be holding a vigil for the victims, and you can find out more here.

Met Commissioner should resign in light of 7th October debacle

Following our letter to the Met Police about the plans for the 7th October hate march, the force released a statement urging organisers of the event to hold their protest on a different day.

However, the Met then released a further statement that was fundamentally disingenuous, with the police complaining that they are powerless to do anything about the march in what was nothing more than another example of two-tier policing. You can read more here about the powers that the Met does have, but refuses to use.

The Met Commissioner keeps saying that the law is inadequate and he needs more powers in order to do anything meaningful, but even now he is not using his existing powers.

What is inadequate is his performance over the past three years, when antisemitic hate crime has risen to unprecedented levels – a clear failure of policing for which he has never been held to account. He must resign over this disgrace and the many travesties that have preceded it.

Heaton Park survivor speaks exclusively to Campaign Against Antisemitism on anniversary of attack

In this week’s episode of our Podcast Against Antisemitism, Elie interviewed Yoni Finlay, a survivor of the deadly 2025 Islamist terrorist attack on Manchester’s Heaton Park Synagogue.

The attack took place on Yom Kippur – the holiest day in the Jewish calendar – and two people were killed in the incident in addition to the terrorist, with three others injured. One of the injured was Yoni, who was hit by a stray police bullet that passed through him and, tragically, killed Adrian Daulby.

In this interview, Yoni recounts that horrific day, his recovery and why he believes that Britain is heading in the wrong direction on antisemitism.

Gazan migrant with Hamas links facing deportation

Abu Wadei, a Gazan asylum seeker who was involved in a Hamas-linked operation in Gaza and has reportedly called for the slaughter of all Jews, is reportedly facing deportation.

We identified Mr Wadei a year and a half ago using facial recognition, while he was crossing over the Channel on a dinghy. We immediately contacted the Home Office, only to find that they had put him up in a hotel without even realising his Hamas connections. Not only was it left to us to identify him, but only after we threatened to privately prosecute him was he charged with illegally entering the UK. We hoped that the authorities might be trusted to take it from there, but when we wrote to the CPS calling for Mr Wadei to be charged with terrorism offences while he was still in custody on immigration charges, they refused.

He was jailed for the immigration offences, but eventually set free and remained in the UK, earning money online. TikTok removed his account two or three times, but he kept returning, making a mockery of their policies.

But why is this man still in the UK, having been convicted of immigration offences? What is the point of imprisoning someone for being in the country illegally, and then when he completed his sentence allowing him to roam free? Our laws have become a laughing stock.

There is now some suggestion that he may finally be deported, but there is also some indication that this may even be at his initiative.

This is all the more significant in a week when the Home Secretary has announced that she will make it easier for Gazans to settle in the UK with no assurances being provided as to whether they may hold antisemitic views or have a history of terrorism.

Our country desperately needs to get a grip. Our Chief Executive Gideon Falter spoke to GB News and Talk TV about the case.

Campaign Against Antisemitism attends Conservative Party Conference

Representatives of Campaign Against Antisemitism recently attended the Conservative Party’s annual conference.

This is one of a number of a party conferences that we are attending this season, taking meetings with figures from across the country to ensure that they know what needs to be done to tackle antisemitism and extremism in this country.

Politicians from all parties in Parliament, devolved government and local authorities have a role to play in restoring British values and making the UK safe again for Jews. That means going beyond warm words to strong action. We will be explaining how.

On eve of 7th October anniversary, FlyDubai atrocity averted

This week, the Jewish state narrowly averted what media outlets have termed ‘Israel’s 9/11’.

The co-pilot of a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv allegedly stabbed the captain mid-flight in an attempted hijacking. The heroic pilot managed to open the cockpit door and courageous Israeli passengers restrained his assailant before steadying the plane, with a second crew onboard then taking the controls and landing the jet safely in Saudi Arabia.

The incident is being treated as a terror attack, and media coverage suggests the co-pilot intended to crash the plane into Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport or a tower block in Tel Aviv.

Immediately, hostile news reporting downplayed the unfolding incident and drew on conspiratorial tropes to analyse its impact, before eventually giving way to the truth.

For those calling this Israel’s averted 9/11, we would remind them that Israel suffered the proportional equivalent of sixteen 9/11s on 7th October 2023, the third anniversary of which falls this week.

We remember those who were murdered, those who were taken hostage never to return alive, and those who fought back and sacrificed their lives so that others may live. May their memories be a blessing.
