Positive Dynamics in Transcarpathia and Blueberry Exports
The only region where agricultural production is increasing is Transcarpathia, where the indicator rose by 2.7%. Despite the overall decline, Ukrainian blueberry producers are actively expanding their export potential. This year, the association of blueberry producers and exporters collected over 350 tons of berries, of which about 250 tons were sent to foreign markets. The main importing countries are Serbia, Romania, and Moldova, but entrepreneurs plan to enter the markets of Germany and Spain as well. Ukraine is currently among the top twenty largest blueberry producers in the world, with a share of about 0.6%.
Regarding the harvest of grains and legumes, this year Ukrainian farmers have already harvested 34.75 million tons, which is 18.8% less than last year when 42.8 million tons were collected. The decrease in results was primarily influenced by the later start of corn harvesting.
