The brightest flashlights in the world, as of 2026?
You just want the brightest of the brightest? Then choose one of the top 5:

Brightest AAA flashlight
Olight i3T

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 190 lumens |
| LED type: | 1*Philips LUXEON TX CW LED |
| Battery type: | AAA |
| Charging: | No built-in charging |
| Best for: | Every Day Carry / Keychain |
| Extra: | Simple UI with only 2 modes |
We see that still many people look for bright AAA flashlights. But the fact is, AAA flashlights aren’t very bright at all, at least compared to some of the bigger lights mentioned in this guide. But still, if you’re looking for the brightest small keychain light, check out this Olight i3T. Most flashlights in this category have outputs around 100 lumens, but this light is specced at 180 lumens, and we measured even over 190. That’s not extremely bright, but much better than the other competing flashlights in this category.
BTW before you get one, not that we don’t recommend using the included Alkaline battery, but rather get some rechargeable NiMH batteries, like the Panasonic Eneloop AAA. This will save you money in the long run and work much better than Alkaline batteries.
Why we recommend this:
- The output we measured at 190 lumens is higher than its counterparts
- It is available in several colors (Black, blue, pink, etc)
- Very small and lightweight
- Can be used with all kinds of AAA batteries in an emergency (rechargeable, Alkaline, lithium 1.8V))
- Very simple UI with only 2 modes: High, and Low

Brightest AA flashlights
AA flashlights are not very popular when it comes to bright, high-power flashlights. These batteries simply lack the power to give it a good punch. Many AA type flashlights can use lithium batteries which will double or even triple the output.
Emisar D3AA

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 555 lumens at turn-on with an AA NiMH battery |
| LED type: | Nichia 519A (but many other options) |
| Battery type: | AA-14500 |
| Charging: | No built-in charging |
| Best for: | Every Day Carry |
| Extra: | Advanced UI: this can be a con for some users |
Emisar is a fairly unknown brand outside the flashlight community but very popular among enthusiasts. It’s specifically built for enthusiasts and offers a wide variety of options. You can get it in four different colors, about twenty different LEDs, and many other options.
The AA Eneloop reached 555 lumens and dropped to about 517 lm within 30 seconds. That’s amazing for this size of a flashlight and this type of LED.
The 14500 cell on Turbo starts at over 1400 lm and drops to about 1138 lm within 30 seconds. See our review of the Emisar D3AA for more details.
A summary of why we recommend this flashlight:
- Measured output: 555 lumens on 1 Eneloop AA (and 1486 lumens with 14500 battery)
- Lots of different LED options you can choose from
- Advanced UI: Anduril 2

Strongest 2AA flashlight
Acebeam TAC 2AA
Dual AA cell flashlight with over 500 lumens

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 567 lumens on 2 AA batteries (1241 with included lithium) |
| LED type: | 1*Luminus SFT25R |
| Battery type: | 1*14100 (included) |
| Charging: | No built-in charging, 2AA |
| Best for: | Every Day Carry |
The Acebeam TAC 2AA is a great performer
The new Acebeam TAC 2AA is a great blend of the best features of those. The body styling is fairly sleek and slender, more so than the TAC AA (single AA version). The dual-switch UI is nice, and I appreciate having the option of Tactical (instant Turbo) and Daily (mode memory) UI modes.
The included 14100P lithium-ion battery provides an extra boost in output, though I couldn’t quite hit Acebeam’s numbers. USB-C charging on the battery makes this a convenient grab-and-go option, especially nice for gifting and trips where you might not want to pack a charger.
And of course there’s the AA battery compatibility, which is a good feature in a pinch. While I was able to hit the output claims on NiMH (Eneloops), the runtime duration was well short of Acebeam’s numbers. All in all, the Acebeam TAC 2AA is a great option for EDC and around-the-house use with just a few minor shortcomings.
A summary of why we recommend this flashlight:
- It works on rechargeable NiMH/ NiCad batteries, as well as Alkaline batteries
- Throws around 300 meters with Lithium battery
- Available in several body colors: black, green, blue, orange, desert tan
- Feels very robust and of good quality!

Single-cell lithium powered LED flashlights
Imalent MS03
Imalent MS03 is super bright. The brightest flashlight since 2021 running off a single 21700 battery. Reaching almost 13,000 lumens!

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 12,000 lumens (advertised at 13,000) |
| LED type: | 3*XHP70.2 |
| Battery type: | 1*21700 |
| Charging: | No built-in charging |
| Best for: | Every Day Carry / Utility |
Imalent is known for being one of the few manufacturers that try to achieve the maximum output. The MS03 is no exception in that regard. Pushing out over 10,000 lumens from a single cell is insane!
If you are looking for a pocketable flashlight to blind 100 people at once, get the MS03. This thing is seriously ridiculous. Please check out our in-depth review of the Imalent MS03 for all the details. And yes, it does include a pocket clip, but it’s easy to remove.
Imalent includes a high-drain 21700 battery, so you are ready to go. Use coupon 1lumen for 10% off at Imalentstore.com
A summary of why we recommend this flashlight:
- Smallest brightest flashlight
- Works on 21700 (is included, with USB charging) as well as a single 18650 battery
- Throws farther than 280 meters

Note: there are some flashlights like the Nightwatch NS73v2, that can reach a bit higher. However, this is not a main brand and within months these flashlights are unavailable. Therefore I’ll only add them when they are available, and remove them when they are hard to come by.
Powerful multi lithium cell flashlights on a budget around $100
Sofirn SP36 Pro (Anduril 2)
One of the best budget flashlights available for around $60.

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 5,300 lumens (specced at 8,000) |
| LED type: | 4* Luminus SST40 |
| Battery type: | 4*18650 |
| Charging: | USB-C charging |
| Best for: | Every Day Carry / Utility |
This is an extremely bright light that offers the most bang for the buck. It is the brightest budget flashlight with a multi-battery configuration made today, the Sofirn SP36PRO. Check out our full review of the Sofirn SP36Pro here.
It is the successor of the very popular BLF Q8, which has been a very popular light amongst flashaholics and has been a hit amongst flashlight enthusiasts worldwide.
Using 4x Luminus SST40 LEDs to produce a mind-blowing 5000+ lumens, this flashlight is a monster to be reckoned with and a must-have for all flashlights users. The SP36PRO is an all-purpose light and can be used for anything, from lighting up the road in front of you to be used while camping to even being a great night light for some.
Good high-drain 18650 cells like the NCR18650GA, Samsung 30Q, LG HG2, Sony VTC6, Samsung 25R, and many others must be used for maximum performance. All of the cells are in parallel, so they need to be kept at the same charge level to prevent problems, and they need to be kept in the same group as well.
So, buy 4×18650s at once, and keep them only for 4×18650 lights. Do not separate them.
Its driver is running the Anduril2 firmware, with the standard UI being ramping and direct turbo accessible with a double click. Press and hold for ramping up, and same for ramping down. It’s also very advanced and configurable. It can ramp all the way down to a sub lumen output, to a mind-boggling 5,000+ lumens on maximum. You can also access standard modes if you don’t like ramping and strobes. But remember that this firmware is pretty sophisticated and may not fit everyone’s needs. Definitely check out our review we linked above.

World’s Brightest Flashlights
Most powerful flashlights above 10,000 lumens!
Here’s a list of the flashlights we reviewed that fall into the larger flashlights, or soupcan lights.
Some of them are a bit smaller or larger, but I didn’t include the largest lights in there.

Imalent SR16: 55,000 lumens
Tame the darkness with the SR16! A great thrower and lumenmonster in 1.

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 53,000 lumens (specced at 55,000 lumens) |
| LED type: | 16* CREE XHP50.3 Hi |
| Battery type: | 4*21700 battery pack |
| Charging: | Proprietary 19V charging |
| Extra: | Carry handle has a built-in switch, internal cooling system |
Imalent has a prominent place on this list because its goal is to build the brightest and strongest flashlights on the planet.
The SR16 is a little different from the others because it uses 16 LEDs and uses a carry handle with the switch built in. Finally! We measured the SR16 at just over 53,000 lumens during our test, which is a little lower than the specified 55,000 lumens. But these are not ANSI FL1 standards because that would mean they should use the lumen output after 30 seconds. And we measured it at 43,000 lumens. Which is still incredible but not the rated 55,000 lumens.
Note that most of the flashlights on this list don’t follow the ANSI FL1 standards for their highest output, and just mention the maximum available output instead.

Top 5 brightest flashlights in the world
Here’s the top 5 Strongest flashlights, above 50,000 lumens according to ANSI FL1 standards !
Here’s a quick overview to compare them. You can see that the advertised output doesn’t necessarily mean that the output stays the highest.
Measured at turn on = highest output measured
ANSI FL1 = measurement taken, 30 seconds after turn on.

Haikelite HK08: 60,000 lumens
A great thrower and lumenmonster in 1.

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | We measured 64,000 lumens at turn on, 59 after 30sec (specced at 60,000 lumens) |
| LED type: | 8* SFH43 LEDs |
| Battery type: | 4*21700 battery pack |
| Charging: | PD USB-C, at 85 watts charging |
| Extra: | Carry handle has a built-in switch |
It’s a bit of a surprise to see Haikelite mentioned on this page.
Until recently, most of Haikelite’s offerings were pretty powerful, but they never made it to this list. They included the HK90 and HT90, which are very interesting flashlights.
The Haikelite HK08 is specced at 60,000 lumens and 1340 meters of throw, and we measured 59,727 lumens after 30 seconds, and a total throw of 1092 meters. Even though the beam distance was a bit shorter, these numbers are still nothing but astonishing.
What also sets the Haikelite apart is the LEDs used. Instead of the popular CREE XHP series, they used 8* SFH43 LEDs, each with 16 dies. These are not mainstream LEDs, and most people never heard of them. It’s also nice to see they only use 4* 21700 batteries, and we recommend ordering these batteries together with the light. The HK08 has a handle with a built-in e-switch, and supports USB-C charging and power bank discharging. It has 4 main modes and 3 blinky modes.
The flashlight has a carrying strap, two charging cables (why?), a spare o-ring, and a manual. The Haikelite HK08 is probably the best value for your money regarding high-power flashlights overall. It’s a true lumen-monster, but with some drawbacks, such as the required use of button-top cells and its UI. The HK08 is suitable for enthusiasts who want to experience a lot of lumens and throw but not break the bank.
Interesting in more details? Check out our Haikelite HK08 review.
Why we would recommend the Haikelite HK08:
- Can be had below $200 (without batteries)
- Has a carry handle with a built-in switch
- Uses 4*21700 batteries. Some people do not like using battery packs (but they need to be button tops) so this is probably still their best bet. All other powerful flashlight use batterypacks for good reason.

Imalent MS18
The Imalent MS18 is a very strong flashlight, with a blinding 100000 lumen output.

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | 100,000 lumens (we measured 101,626 lumens at turn-on) |
| LED type: | 18* CREE XHP70.2 |
| Battery type: | 8*21700 battery pack |
| Charging: | 19V proprietary charging |
| Extra: | 4 active cooling fans with liquid cooling |
This is the 3rd world’s brightest flashlight, with a blinding 100000 lumens. Brighter than other handheld flashlights available anywhere on the planet. With this incredibly high output, you can light up an entire baseball field. We reviewed the Imalent MS18 extensively. Check out our Imalent MS18 review to learn more about this beast, and make sure to double-check our runtime graphs comparison with other bright LED flashlights. And because of how this flashlight is built, with the cooling fans built in, don’t expect this to be a waterproof flashlight.
Even though many eBay sellers claim their flashlights are reaching 100,000 lumens, they are lying. The Imalent MS18 was the first flashlight officially claiming 100K lumens from a major flashlight manufacturer. If you want to have the most powerful handheld flashlight globally, there is only 1, this one.
If you don’t believe me, check out the review and the comparison shots. Nobody else on the internet reviewed as many powerful flashlights as we do.
The reasons why we would recommend the Imalent MS18:
- Brightest production LED flashlight on the planet. Impress your friends… and neighbors
- Built-in cooling system to maximize sustained output
- Lots of power, even in the lower modes.
- Comes with a carry cord for long-term use

Acebeam X75: 80,000 lumens
The Acebeam X75 has 18 XHP70.2 LEDs for pure flood with an 80 000-lumen output—a super bright flashlight with the highest sustainable output!

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | 80,000 lumens (we measured 68,773 lumens at turn on) |
| Output ANSI FL1 | 73,716 lm |
| LED type: | 12* CREE XHP70.2 |
| Battery type: | 4*21700 battery pack |
| Charging: | 65 Watt USB-C PD (and 100 Watt is optional) |
| Extra: | Active cooling fan built in the handle, and comes with a spare one |
Only a handful of flashlights can produce over 50,000 lumens, especially with just 4 batteries (inside the battery pack). The X75 is currently the highest-output flashlight, running on just 4 batteries and has a built-in fan. The fan is user-replaceable, and Acebeam includes a spare fan in their package, just in case. That’s really awesome, because most of the time, these fans are not user replaceable.
We tested the Neutral White LED variant – which is often less powerful than the Cool White LED variant – we were able to achieve an output of over 80,000 lumens after a few seconds. If you are looking for a high power flashlight that can provide a consistently high output in a relatively small package, then this is the one you should go for. It is one of the best high-sustained performers available today, with an output of over 20,000 lumens for 20 minutes. No other flashlight can match this, except for the much larger, and heavier Imalent MS32.
If you want to read the full test, visit our Acebeam X75 review.
The reasons why we would recommend this:
- The highest sustained output of all flashlights. Even better than the Imalent MS18
- The cooling fan is thermally controlled, so it reduces speed when the light cools down (the Imalent MS18 doesn’t do that)
- Comes with a carry handle, with built-in switches. You don’t need to change hand position or use both hands.
- Very portable, and quite lightweight.

Haikelite AK24
the 2nd Brightest flashlight in the world

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | 230,000 lm (we measured just over 230,000 lm) |
| Output ANSI FL1 | 128,565 lm |
| LED type: | 24* SFH55 |
| Battery type: | 12*21700 battery pack |
| Charging: | USB-C charging (100 watt fast charge) |
| Extra: | 1 active cooling fans with liquid cooling |
The Haikelite has the highest output every recorded from a flashlight.. but that’s only at turn on, and the output drops quickly.
To reach this output, it uses 24 LEDs, labeled SFH55 contains 12*21700 batteries, which rattle a bit inside the batterytube. Charging can be done at almost 100 watts, and I measured around 94 watts max.
Even though the maximum output is higher than any other flashlight, it’s pretty short lived. There are other flashlights on this list that sustain a higher output once turbo output drops.
No mode reaches above 10,000 lumens after 3.5 minutes. And that’s only possible with Level 2. After that, the output drops slowly, until it dies around 3 hours. There are a few more important factors to keep in mind when buying the AK24, so I refer you to the review.

Some benefits of the Haikelite AK24
- It includes a conventient carry handle
- The handle has a built-in switch allowing you to operate it with one hand
- It charges via USB-C
- The battery pack also serves as a power bank, to charge your other devices
- Max. of 100W fast charging

Imalent MS32

| Specification: | Highlights: |
|---|---|
| Max. brightness: | 200,000 lm (we measured 191,388 lm) |
| ANSI FL1 output: | 177,957 lm |
| LED type: | 32* CREE XHP70.2 |
| Battery type: | 12*21700 battery pack |
| Charging: | USB-C charging (100 watt fast charge) |
| Extra: | 3 active cooling fans with liquid cooling |
We tested the Imalent MS32, and I almost can’t believe the performance results. During our testing we saw that the highest 3 modes can keep up with all the other brightest flashlights on this list..
So far, Imalent has been lonely at the top of this list for quite some time, and now it becomes even harder for any other brand to top it. The new MS32 is twice as bright as the MS18 on paper, and I measured 191,000 lumens at turn-on. This is even more because my testing setup (homemade integrating sphere) isn’t large enough for this output.
The charging process was also quite speedy because Imalent provides a 100W USB-C charger that can recharge the battery pack in approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. To ensure accuracy, I timed the charging process six or seven times, and each time it took between 1 hour 43 minutes to 1 hour 53 minutes.
Besides having the highest output of all flashlights, it can also sustain the highest output of all. It can do about 40000 lumens for 30+ minutes in Turbo mode and roughly 18,000 lumens in High 1 mode (without the use of the fans) for almost 1 hour and 30 minutes. That’s insane because it’s about the same sustained output as the Imalent SR32 in Turbo, but twice as long and without the noise of the cooling fans. And compared to the Acebeam X75 turbo mode, it’s slightly lower (but likely impossible to notice in person) but runs 4 times longer.
If you are looking for the brightest flashlight, this is it! It dwarfs its competition.
It’s a true lumen monster!
This is why I would recommend the MS32
- The brightest flashlight on the planet
- Currently the highest sustained-output flashlight available. Check the full review for our comparison.
- It’s “High 1” mode delivers longer sustained output than any other flashlights on this list even without the use of its internal fans. This means a silent flashlight but extremely bright. Turn the fans on, and the sustained output is even higher.
- Rapid 100Watt charging (USB-C) let’s you fully recharge in just 1 hour and 45 minutes
- We measured roughly 40,000 lumens for over 30 minutes, with a beam distance of around 700 meters. This was measured in Turbo mode.
- The built in cooling fans help maintain top performance during extended use.

There are just so many untrustworthy websites and product listings that you better stay away from them. We test flashlights to know whether their advertised outputs are legit. So take notice!
Some questions about the most powerful flashlights
Take note that you read reviews before deciding on your next purchase.
What is the brightest pocket flashlight?
Imalent MS03 is currently the smallest best flashlight with 13,000 lumens. You need to use high-drain batteries for it to reach that high output. If you use mediocre batteries, you won’t be able to reach the maximum brightness!
What is the brightest AA flashlight?
It’s the Nitecore EA81, which uses 8 AA batteries and produces 2150 lumens. Unfortunately, it’s an older model, but still, the most powerful flashlight running on AA batteries.
Please note to use rechargeable NiMH batteries like Panasonic Eneloop and never alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries are too weak for these types of high power LED flashlights. What’s the brightest flashlight in the world?
The brightest LED flashlight in the world is the Imalent MS32. It’s a 200,000 lumen flashlight with cooling fans built-in to keep the temperature down. We also reviewed other high-lumen flashlights, including the Acebeam X75, a 80,000-lumen flashlight, much lighter than its competitors. Check out all of our reviews.
What is the brightest tactical flashlight?
We made a list with the ‘brightest tactical flashlights‘ for the most updated list. Nitecore makes some of the best flashlights, including the brightest tactical lights: Nitecore TM9K, TM10K, TM20K.
