“Stop relying on Amazon reviews, top 10 websites on Google, or even manufacturer’s specs! We test flashlights to reveal the truth. Curious how? Check out our 1042 in-depth flashlight reviews!”
– Marco

Note: We tested hundreds of flashlights and add between 10 to 15 new reviews every month. Many companies advertise their flashlights as 10,000 lumens, but in most cases, these claims are bogus and the actual lumen output falls far short. In our list, we feature some of the top-performing flashlights we tested that have an actual output within 20% of 10,000 lumens. Some models are advertised at higher outputs, but after testing, we found that they perform closer to 10,000 lumens.

One more important thing to remember: there are no flashlights claiming to have a ten thousand lumen output that can sustain that level for more than a few minutes. All flashlights decrease in output as the batteries drain and heat accumulates. This is a fundamental characteristic of LED flashlights. The only way to get around this is by creating a big flashlight with plenty of mass, some internal cooling fans, as well as a lot of batteries. In that case, have a look at the Imalent MS18, Imalent MS32, Imalent SR32, or the Acebeam X75, etc.. which are much, much larger, and advertised as 10 times brighter.

However, any pocket-sized flashlight with 10,000 lumens does not have these characteristics and will drop in output rather quickly. We include some graphs of the performance tests we ran to illustrate this. These graphs show you how quick these outputs decline.

Smallest 10000 lumen flashlight

Imalent MS03

Imalent MS03 in hand
Imalent MS03 chart
DetailsHighlights:
Max output:Advertised at 13,000 lumens. We measured 12,000 lumens (within 20% of 10K)
Weight:193 grams / 6.81 oz
Size:110 mm / 4.33 inches
Charging:Included battery has USB-C port
Extra:Smallest 10,000 lumen flashlight

Imalent includes a 4000mAh USB-C type rechargeable 21700 Li-ion battery. Note that this is a proprietary cell. A regular flat-top 21700 cell will not work because it’s too short. And even though this flashlight has been around for several years now, it’s still a valid ten thousand-lumen flashlight!

A big plus of this battery is the USB-C charge port. To charge the cell, simply remove the battery and put it in your USB charging adapter.

Why I think this is a great option:

  1. One of the smallest 10,000 lumen flashlights currently available
  2. Comes with a rechargeable 21700 type lithium-ion battery, with USB-C port
  3. You don’t need to buy a separate battery charger

Best rechargeable 10,000 lumen flashlight

Wuben X1

We measured 9,566 lumens!

white Wuben X1 pro flashlight in my hand
wuben x1 pro runtime
Specification:Highlights:
Max. brightness:12,300 lumens (we measured 10320 at turn on and 8,320lm after 30 sec)
LED type:1* CREE XHP50.3 Hi + 4*XHP50.3HD
Battery type:2*21700 (built-in, but removable)
Charging:USB-C
Best for:Every Day Carry / around the house
Extra:Has a built-in fan

Wuben makes some truly interesting flashlights. Their designs are pretty unique, with some interesting features.

The X1 Pro has a cooling fan built in, that keeps the temperature in check, so even when the output drops from 10,000 lumens to 2,500 lumens, the flashlight can sustain that output for 1.5 hours. That’s really good performance with this size of flashlight.

Yes, it does look a little awkward, but its performance is great. It has a rectangular shape that makes it a little bit awkward compared to other flashlights.

The flashlight can be charged with a USB-C cable. Both types of cables work USB-A to USB-C as well as USB-C to USB-C.

This is why we recommend the Wuben X1 Pro, as one of the best overall 10,000 lm rechargeable flashlights:

  1. Dual battery setup
  2. Relatively small for 2*21700
  3. Can really do 10,000 lumens at turn-on
  4. It has a high sustained output of about 2,500+ lumens, due to the built-in active cooling system
  5. Batteries are replaceable, even if you are not supposed to open the flashlight up.

Best tactical 10,000 lumen flashlight

Nitecore TM9K Pro

Nitecore TM9K Tac holding
Nitecore TM9K Tac runtime graph
Specification:Highlights:
Max. brightness:9,800 lumens (we measured 10,386 at turn on, 2301 after 30 sec)
LED type:3* Nitecore UHI 40 Max (each LED has 9 dies, so 27 in total)
Battery type:Comes with a built-in rechargeable battery (21700)
Charging:Onboard USB-C charger (takes 4 hours and 15 minutes)
Best for:Hunting / Tactical / Security

Nitecore is no stranger to the flashlight market. They’ve been producing robust, high-quality lights for at least 14 years.

Like many Nitecore lights, this Tiny Monster (TM) has a tactical look to it: black and fairly aggressively machined. Build quality is one of those things I feel like Nitecore really excels at. If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s the nice HA III anodizing.

It has a beautiful stainless steel crenulated bezel, that protect 3 Nitecore LEDs, with 9 dies per LED, resulting in 27 LEDs.. so to say.

Note: You can’t just put the TM9K Pro into Turbo mode to do a test. Rather, you have to hold the button down in order to use Turbo. That’s why the output drops so quickly. It’s just for momentary 10K use.

A summary of why we recommend the Nitecore TM9K Pro flashlight:

  1. Great for tactical use, where you could use over 10000 lumens with 1 press of a button
  2. Built-in 21700 battery (nonreplaceable) with 5,000mAh capacity
  3. Throws a beam for over 400 yards in turbo mode

Popular 10,000 lumen Fenix flashlight

Fenix LR35R

Fenix LR35R in hand
Fenix LR35r runtime updated
Specification:Highlights:
Max. brightness:10000 lumens (we measured 8,615 lm after 30sec)
LED type:6* Luminus SST40
Battery type:2* 21700 lithium-ion batteries with 4000mAh
Charging:USB-C at about 2.55A
Best for:Every Day Carry / work / camping etc

Fenix has built some very cool and interesting flashlights over the past decade or more.

One of their trademarks is building upon successful models, upgrading them with new features and new emitters. And that’s what the LR35R stands for. A high power flashlight, that looks like the popular TK35 series.

However, the LR35R is more for EDC use instead of tactical use because it has only 1 side switch. You can hold it comfortably in your hand, and use the switch for power and mode switching. You don’t need to change hand positions in doing so.

Our test measured 8,615 lumens after 30 seconds and 10,240 lumens at turn-on.

This makes it a true 10,000 lumen Fenix flashlight

Here’s a quick summary of why we recommend this flashlight:

  1. Great for everyday use, with 2 flat parts and a large pocket clip.
  2. It’s easily rechargeable. You only need a USB-C cable and don’t need a dedicated 21700 charger.
  3. Can sustain a high output at around 1500-2000 lumens
  4. Fenix has a great warranty

Best budget 10,000+ lumen flashlight

Nightwatch A54U

The Nightwatch A54U is a pocket-sized 21700 flashlight at just 130 mm long, slim enough to slip comfortably into any pocket without bulk. It cranks out an insane 13,845 measured lumens at turn-on from four N5-165HPE+ LEDs, dropping to a still-blinding 3,763 lumens at 30 seconds.

The flood-heavy quad LOP beam reaches 242 meters with neutral tint, backed by solid FET+buck regulation and USB-C charging. At $60, it’s a heat monster that demands respect on turbo, but excels for short bursts of overwhelming light where size and output matter most.

Here’s why you could consider this one:

  1. Semi pocket-friendly at 130 mm length, yet unleashes 13,845 lumens at 30 seconds…
  2. Flood beam but still 242m reach and neutral tint
  3. Simple UI with mode memory and USB-C charging in a grippy, balanced aluminum host for just $60.
  4. BTW this is just a fun pocket rocket, not your daily driver!

If you’re looking for similar buyer’s guides, but with different outputs, here are the ones we currently have:

Questions about 10000 lumen flashlights

  • Are the flashlights on this list really the best 10,000 lumen flashlights?

These are the lights we tested at around 10K lumens (with a margin of 20%). We reviewed a couple hundred flashlights so far, and there are many more flashlights out there. You just can’t trust most specifications, so not all 10,000 lumen flashlights can really produce that. Beware. So, these are the ones we tested, and recommend based on the 10,000 lumen request.

  • How far can 10000 lumens reach?

Lumens and distance are two separate things. We reviewed 500 lumen LEP flashlights that can reach 3,000 meters and 10,000-lumen flashlights that can only reach 300 meters. You can’t translate lumens into maximum beam distance!

  • Is 10,000 lumen enough?

10K lumens is an insane amount of light. The most important thing to remember is that 1000 lumens is only going to be brief. If you want to sustain 10,000 lumens, you need a 50,000 or 100,000 lumen flashlight with active cooling to achieve that. No ten thousand-lumen flashlight that fits in your pocket can sustain 10,000 lumens for more than 1-2 minutes.
