Hall of Famer Terrell Owens called San Francisco 49ers WR Mike Evans' plays "really average" and claimed he could still produce in the NFL.

Seems like it’s all about people being wrong with Purdy at this point. That’s fair, but it’s also been discussed that evaluating what’s essential in quarterbacking (like Brock Purdy and Tom Brady) is something they still haven’t figured out yet and simply don’t know how to evaluate. I’m talking about the mental game, how quick to process data, staying calm under pressure and not cracking. Things like that. What say you?

Do you think Brock Purdy is an indictment of NFL scouts or an illustration of how difficult it is to evaluate the quarterback position?

Salute to Ogbo Okoronkwo, the MVP that's not appreciated as much as he deserves!!!With all of our injuries, practice squad elevations will quickly be at a premium and need to be managed extra carefully.
Okoronkwo has effectively (and very effectively) been our 54th man. The value of being able to rely on a good player to repeatedly be waived, re-signed to the practice squad, elevated, play ever week and contribute at a high level, get promoted back to the 53 only to repeat the process anytime we need him to and do it all with a smile is invaluable.

When we win the next Super Bowl and look back at all the injuries we weathered and the #1 seed record we earned through it all, let's make sure to appreciate the huge role Ogbo Okoronkwo played in it. He won't likely have the stats to look back on, but he'll be a big reason for whatever success we have this year.

Thank you, Ogbo!!!!

The Unheralded MVP

We do not need any receivers or front defense pieces. Our receiver room is full (mostly injured at the moment, but that is quickly changing in the coming weeks) of strong players. Our young defensive front has shattered expectations and continues to impress. I'm giddy thinking about what our defense will look like after the return of NJB. It'll be a nightmare for anyone we face moving forward. A trade will not fix these problems. Proper game planning from coaching to navigate through and PATIENCE from us the fans. The one thing we really, truly do need? A kick returner. My God, do we need Cowing to never field another kick for us. That's the biggest need we have that's actually fixable with a trade.

Hot Take on Trades

Per David Lombardi Wesley Grimes was one of 2 scout players of the week. Wesley Grimes from NC states is 22 years old, 6’2” and ran a 4.35 40 yard dash. Now seems as good a time as ever to activate him. Anyone have any insights on this kid?

I will never forget watching this game. Pure domination. Serves the Falcons right.

It's becoming fashionable to say that our defense is fine without Bosa. I get it; the injuries have been frustrating. But this take smacks of small sample size and recency bias.I imagine that if Trent Williams missed a couple of games against mediocre defenses, we could get by with no sacks and do well on offense. Would that mean we don't need Trent? No. It would mean we didn't play anyone. Now look at our opponents without Bosa: Arizona, Denver, Seattle, and Washington. Two of these teams are terrible, and two of them are making headlines this season for how unexpectedly bad their offenses are. Yes, Denver and Seattle are decent teams overall, but both fanbases are calling for their QBs to be benched.ESPN's FPI (offense) has all 49er opponents this season below zero except the Rams, whom we beat with a healthy Bosa:
Look, it's fun to win with no-names. Fun to get great value out of fifth-round picks and reclamations. And yes, dollar-for-dollar, Nick Bosa won't be as valuable as a starter on a rookie contract. But to seal the deal - to win #6 - we can't just be efficient. We need studs. We need Kittle, and Warner, and Evans, and Trent Freaking Williams. We need guys who win when opponents are great, because our guys are even better. We need Nick Bosa.

Yes, we still need Nick Bosa

Looks like they are saying the three din’t practice. The 49ers take off for Atlanta once the practice is over, so I wouldn’t be holding my breath. Hopefully they can get into the bye with little injury
